I heard a clip on MLB Radio this morning that the Pirates have had 4 above .500 seasons in the last 33 years (I didn't fact check it). Jerry see's all the year over year profits that they get and that's what he wants. I think it's going to be a long lockout. The spenders don't want to share with teams/owners that don't care about winning and the non-spenders don't want to cutoff the pipeline of profits.

Is that correct? The Nats and Rockies can't pick ahead of the Sox for #1 (overall). And I believe it's a graduated scale down after the top two losers. I believe, the Sox should have the highest % chance at the #1 pick.

Your definition of mental gymnastics isn’t what it really means. I don't remember if it was this thread or another, but a post stated that if Getz is fired today he will never have another GM job in his life. Stearns will be hired tomorrow if the Mets cut him loose. That's reality. Twisting an argument into a pretzel to frame it another way isn't reality.

You need to accept Getz sucks and is a massive part of how the Sox made history last season and will have the 2nd worst record in MLB this season. We're not last this year!!!!!!!!!!

Roman Anthony was a huge deal. Basallo just needs to be a decent DH and he'll earn that contract (at least outside of JR's world). Elias is a prospect hoarder, but is that him or ownership budget limitations from locking your own guys up (I don't know)? Whoever is fucking it up is going to see Gunnar walk out the door when they've had ample time to lock him up and he's not the only one.

This is what blows my mind. We could start them both and on the very remote chance the C gets hurt then you lose the DH for that day. Who cares, were losing 100+ games anyway and just call up Lee the next day. It's just bugged the s%*# out of me since they've both been up.

I think it was this thread where Murphy told Vaughn if he kept swinging at s%*# that he would sit. Did the Dodgers tell Kopech if he kept throwing a 4 seamer every pitch he'd be in mop up duty? How did he get to just shake off the call from the Sox dugout without any repercussions? He didn't just stop on his own. The better organization made him change.

That's fucking awesome. I don't know if Vaughn needed a wakeup call, change of scenery/new voice or just another case of Getz's ineptitude at being in charge of everyone in the player development program.
