  1. This is what blows my mind. We could start them both and on the very remote chance the C gets hurt then you lose the DH for that day. Who cares, were losing 100+ games anyway and just call up Lee the next day. It's just bugged the s%*# out of me since they've both been up.
  2. That's the yardstick to measure Getz. Seriously, about fucking time.
  3. And 90% of White Sox fandom is going to clown on Getz for the rest of time because, uh, he has his name as the GM, Asst. GM and DoPD for 6+ years prior to owning the most losses in MLB modern history.
  4. I think it was this thread where Murphy told Vaughn if he kept swinging at s%*# that he would sit. Did the Dodgers tell Kopech if he kept throwing a 4 seamer every pitch he'd be in mop up duty? How did he get to just shake off the call from the Sox dugout without any repercussions? He didn't just stop on his own. The better organization made him change.
  5. That's fucking awesome. I don't know if Vaughn needed a wakeup call, change of scenery/new voice or just another case of Getz's ineptitude at being in charge of everyone in the player development program.
  6. He had a phenomenal 1st half, but I was just blown away it took that long for the league to adjust. You can't be rocking a 5+K/BB (now up to 6), be dead pull and unable to touch lefties and put up anything close to what 's he did without severe regression. It's hard to take his defense out, but if he can't do better vs. LH's he really needs to be platooned.
  7. Only need to go 36-7 to get to .500! Start a new thread.
  8. Well, Venable is not good and you can only do so much when the GM stacks your roster with 4A guys.
  9. 100% sure? No. That being said, they are taking a hit in the shared TV revenue due to the collapse of the RSN's. They would have been okay with that, but my point is he wanted to create his own RSN and that was a colossal failure and they are taking a massive hit on their local TV revenue that they get to keep. You also need to add in the Dominican Academy. Is it a JR special with a coat of paint or is he pumping in $10M? I don't have a clue about that amount.
  10. Absolutely, but with $35M instead of zero, they wouldn't have a loss. Either way, it got the ball rolling for an Ishbia turnover.
  11. Nor is the $1M going into some piggybank for the future. Never has and never will under JR. And for the 1st time in forever (outside of the Covid season) the Sox will be cash negative this year due to local TV. It's like Sportsvision v.2 - he could have just renewed the contract at whatever lowball rate and made bank compared to this year, but no, he wanted his own network.
  12. Yeah, they said that about Schwarber and now many advocating spending HUGE on him. Not saying Tibbs turns into that, but you can't bag on a 22 YO for not hitting much on the weak side. Tons of lefties don't hit lefties.
  13. Your comment is fair. I forgot that they changed the rule where you can't trade anything after the original deadline and anything placed on revocable waivers is a straight salary dump. I was thinking that Getz overplayed his hand and Mr. Burns would tell him to fix it with the best he can do (via waivers) because he wasn't eating that option. I guess I'm just so jaded that I can't believe JR agreed to eat $20M in a throw away season next year and the odds are high that we won't anything better than what was just available.
  14. What are the odds of someone claiming him off waivers in a CB move and Jerry just telling Getzy to walking away from the rest of the salary and buyout? I didn't believe a single word that came out of Getz' mouth in that interview yesterday.
  15. Theoretically, yes. I'm not current on how much a team can eat in salary. It used to be anything over $1M had to be approved by the Commissioner's Office. I don't know where that stands now. That said, Jerry isn't going to eat $12M thru next year and that's probably the bare minimum (IMO) it would take to get someone to bite.
  16. My take on Yankee fans thoughts on this is they don’t give a s%*# about what they gave up, but what they acquired. They were hoping for something better than Slater.
  17. That’s just nuts to let Tony make lineup decisions. Why would Will come here if he knew the nonsense? It blows my mind they’re not in the lineup everyday. Happy they are today.
  18. Will is on something or Getz finally had the balls to tell him to stop fucking around.
  19. I can’t imagine Jerry agreeing to pick up the option. Just throw in $4M ( I know that’s a stretch) and get a decent 19-20 year old lottery ticket. At least Robert seems like he wants off s%*# island and is playing like he cares.
  20. It’s season tickets. I can sell mine because they’re great tickets (at least come close to breaking even). I go to one game a year for the last 4 years, but not giving them up for the chance we are ever good again. I know shame on me, but have had the tickets for almost 30 years.
  21. Yep. That hate went away after 2005. (PCA does strike me as a pud).
  22. $400M plus in revenue sharing? And the Bears are looking for handout? Get fucked Halas, heirs. And on another front, JR is crushing it even more than we thought.
  23. Then start a thread about actual semi-rational trade thoughts and not some troll post about trading Rojas for something valuable.
  24. Hence, the pivot to we can't blame Getz for the return and starting the thread that he's worth something.
