I was thinking that Getz overplayed his hand and Mr. Burns would tell him to fix it with the best he can do (via waivers) because he wasn't eating that option. Theoretically, yes. I'm not current on how much a team can eat in salary. It used to be anything over $1M had to be approved by the Commissioner's Office. I don't know where that stands now. That said, Jerry isn't going to eat $12M thru next year and that's probably the bare minimum (IMO) it would take to get someone to bite.
