  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) David Dwork ‏@DavidDwork 6h6 hours ago The @FlaPanthers were very close to striking a deal with the @NHLBlackhawks last night for Patrick Sharp. May pick back up today. Stay tuned If Sharp gets dealt to the Panthers, I may never complain about the Rizzo to Cubs deal, because the Hawks seem to conveniently dump all their salaries to Dale Tallon.
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) Especially when you are the most successful executive the team has ever had. Jay Cutler is the best quarterback the Bears have ever had
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 01:17 PM) Miles? In their last 13 games, they have scored more than 2 runs twice. 314 runs in 81 games - 3.88 runs per game 275 runs in 80 games - 3.44 runs per game Miles better
  4. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 12:03 PM) Why? We have Rodon, Sale, and Q vs. Kendrick, Lester, and Arrieta. I feel pretty good about those matchups. Yeah, but their crappy offense is miles better than the Sox crappy offense.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 09:22 AM) Kenny Williams has ALWAYS had a three year plan. It has been referenced very often over his time as GM. His last two three year plans resulted in zero playoff appearances. This one is not off to a roaring start either.
  6. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 08:35 AM) More than half of the starting lineup is hitting below .228. What a sad state for this offense. Worst in the league in multiple offensive categories. 5. Adam LaRoche .228 6. Alexei Ramirez .226 7. Gordon Beckham .203 8. Tyler Flowers .224 9. Carlos Sanchez .162 This is the bottom half of the lineup. I think it's safe to say this is the worst offensive White Sox team of my lifetime. The defense is pretty bad also. And Alexei is the only one of those 5 guys that's a major surprise to be on that list.
  7. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 07:16 AM) "Game.....Blouses" ????? That signifies a clutch hit?? Sorry...but ......lost on this one Prince is really good at basketball
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) Chance of rain didn't help And there was another major league game in town at the same time, and a big rivalry at that.
  9. that mid inning interview with zero baseball talk ruins the broadcast. Sorry Mayor.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) Sale has to be the starter I hope he doesn't pitch at all
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) I've said this for a while now, but the Sox miss Viciedo's bat vs LHP. He was pretty dangerous against soft-tossing LHP. I still have nightmares over this 4th inning at-bat against a soft-tossing LHP. It began the 2012 death march, and the Sox haven't been competitive since. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KC...201209190.shtml
  12. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 10:58 AM) That's all over and done though. Raise your hand if you think Verlander will ever come near those numbers again... I think every team would take Danks' contract before Verlander's. Sure, but it's an easier pill to swallow when he provided your team with such a dominant stretch and was part of 5 playoff teams and two WS appearances. It's not like they signed him as a free agent in 2013 or something.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 10:05 AM) He's their John Danks. If John Danks had a Cy Young Award, four top-5 Cy Young finishes, and a MVP award on top of all that.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 07:14 AM) What is Ali and Tyson faced in their primes? Jordan vs Lebron? Shaq vs Wilt? We get BUEHRLE VS SALE! TONIGHT AT 7:10PM ON CSN! Tickets on stubhub are insane for this. Upper deck for $50. Hopefully people are smart enough to know there are thousands upon thousands of tickets available for face on Ticketmaster.
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 5, 2015 -> 06:55 PM) He is also a minor league all-star. What does that say? I could make an infinite list of minor league all-stars who never sniffed the majors, it says nothing.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 4, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) Clayton Richard pitching for the Cubs Not sure what's easier, pitching at Petco or facing the Stanton -less Marlins. Richard sure knows how to pick his spots.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) How many people here have ever hired someone who turned out to be crappy at their job? Or managed someone who turned out to be bad enough he or she needed to be fired? Did you ever consider their failure was grounds for you to lose your job? In some cases it is, but in sports, many seem to think it ALWAYS is. How many people here signed guaranteed multi year contracts from their employers? Let's stop with the comparison of sports to real life employment.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) Adam Jones is 1 for 32 career vs Danks. One of those crazy baseball stats 1 for 33
  19. Adam Jones is 1 for 32 career vs Danks. One of those crazy baseball stats
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) Is there any harm in calling Davidson at this point? At least he has power and can walk. That might hurt Beckham's feelings, and we all know how the front office feels about him
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 01:50 PM) Saad signs with Columbus 6 years 6 million AAV There it is, good for him. Sounds like the Hawks might have given him $5 million, but doubt it would be for 6 years. Can't blame either side, blame the system.
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc 3m3 minutes ago Deals for Johnny Oduya and Marcus Kruger on hold while Stan Bowman works to clear cap space. Gotta wonder how long Oduya waits. #Blackhawks Sounds like Hawks have deals set in place with Kruger and Oduya. Just a matter of trading Sharp and Bickell like now. Hopefully to expect movement next couple days, can't expect Oduya will wait forever. Interesting. Gotta think the Kruger deal can happen now without any trades. It would be huge to keep Oduya, the D core is lacking in depth.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) Addison Russell had a couple of,dropped pop ups today. White Sox material. He'd be the second most valuable position player on the Sox, I'll take him. His team is in a playoff spot right now.
  24. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) ‏@MarkLazerus 3m3 minutes ago Andrew Desjardins' AAV is a mere $800,000. Per his agent, he "took far less to stay. Loves it there." #Blackhawks Awesome. Him, Kruger, and Shaw just clicked on the playoffs. I know it depends on the other forwards but wouldn't mind that line sticking together.
