Velasquez was legitimately good his last start. He got Ks and swings and misses. He's basically pitching to contact today. Nobody's getting fooled on the Red Sox, they're just not squaring up his pitches at all. Usually that's an indication of good location, but that's not been the case for VV today.

4th inning is gonna be the biggest of the game for Velasquez. If he can get through Bogaerts, Devers, and Martinez, he might be in the clear for this game.
