  1. Harrison was just as bad as Hernandez after he got traded to the A's. It is a bit puzzling why they didn't decline the option and try to bring him back on the cheap. The Nats signed him for 4 million.
  2. I don't think unvaxxed players can play in Canada until Canada gets rid of their vaccine requirement.
  3. And the bullpen was pretty bad in the postseason. I can see why they thought it needed to be improved.
  4. If it's for a reasonable return, probably like a 6 or 7.
  5. Depends on who you ask. Career-wise he's been pretty average. But he's about to be 35, so who knows where his legs are.
  6. I'm not gonna lie, this did pop in my head when I posted "who cares who bats 9th?".
  7. I just thought of that. After his down-year last season, he could be a buy-low guy. Plus, we all know how much the Sox like guys with power sinkers.
  8. Jeurys Familia got $6 million from the Phillies with incentives adding up to $7 million. I'd rather have Kelly at $8.5 million/year.
  9. lmao are the Sox trying to use openers now or something? Cause holy crap, the bullpen is loaded as-is.
  10. Harrison does play just about everywhere on the diamond. He's kind of like a right handed Leury. Had they not re-signed Leury, Harrison would have made more sense to be a utility guy.
  11. Not a bad deal. He got the same deal as Neris.
  12. Without Kimbrel, our bullpen is now CL Hendriks SU Graveman SU Bummer (L) MR Kelly MR Crochet (L) MR Ruiz MR Burr LR Lopez
  13. All those line drives he gave up right at people are gonna go for doubles or triples.
  14. omg that's gonna be so rough.
  15. It's more likely than not that they used the Kimbrel $ to sign these 2 guys.
  16. Like a lot of people alluded to in here, this signing is ok if we get a big bat for RF. Because honestly, you don't need a huge bat in the 9th spot. If Harrison can play solid enough defense at 2B and give you a wRC+ close to 100, that's good enough. If they go out and get a Castellanos or Conforto type to stabilize the middle of the order, it doesn't really matter who hits 9th.
  17. Plus he hates the Astros and vice versa.
  18. No thanks. Liam is a much better bet to produce than Kimbrel. Also, we'd be without a closer past next year if we traded Liam.
  19. Apparently Leury mashes in general after seeing him hit a 440 foot homer in the playoffs.
  20. Yeah Leury actually hits right handed better. I don't think Harrison's splits are too dramatic though.
  21. Kimbrel to Philly not looking too good.
  22. What do we think he got? 2 years and 20 million? 2 years and 18 million?
  23. I'm gonna guess the Bassitt trade had some impact on what we were trying to do. Because the 2 signings came out not long after.
  24. We somehow got a even harder throwing bullpen than last year. That's kind of impressive. Now we've got 3 guys throwing hard sinkers as well. Graveman and Kelly can both throw 97-98 on their sinker.
