  1. I think Uribe will start in every game versus a lefty, sometimes at second for Willie and sometimes at SS for Valentin. Obviously, Valentin's days off should come against lefty's as he is much better against righties, same with Willie.
  2. I hated seeing Koch come out yesterday. We're up a lot, give Shingo or somebody else who you aren't going to use as often an inning of work. I have always thought it hurts closers pitching in non-close situations, and while Koch got out of it fine, wouldn't it have been nice if he was completely rested instead of pitching on the second consecutive day today? Maybe he would have had a little better stuff. Keep Koch as closer for now, he hasn't helped us to win much, but he has only contributed to one loss.
  3. Crede's hit bounced once and cleared the wall, making it a 2 run double in most situations. If he had homered we would have gotten four runs, why didn't we get two for that? I know it's a small point and the Sox won so it's all good. If it stands as is I can personally guarantee Crede will drive in 99 runs this year
  4. If you look at the homers, I think most if not all were hit off of pitches that were up in the zone or out of the zone and left over the plate. Later in the season these pitchers won't make as many of those mistakes.
  5. yeah, I was confused watching the game today because Hawk said a couple of times that there were over 3,000 comps at the game, but I thought he was saying cops. I'm pretty sure they are complimentary tickets so they don't count towards the paid attendance. I wonder if there are that many free tickets given away to every game.
  6. Wonder what effect this has on Maggs? These two guys are fairly similar players. Both corner outfielders, very similar numbers over their careers and currently. Anderson is a couple years older I guess, but seeing this deal for ~$12/year might make Maggs realize that he won't be getting $15/year. Could help our chances of us keeping Maggs or it could have no effect.
  7. Let's just hope the bats stay hot and E-Lo warms up with them! Great game today though, first one that I got to watch in it's entirety.
  8. I loved how the guys on PTI were b****ing about ESPN making such a big deal out of this, and then 3 minutes later, they're cut off to see Barry's at bat. Obviously Bonds is a great home run hitter, but this is a little crazy. I don't think that in 50 years my grandkids will ask me where I was when Bonds hit 660, though ESPN would have you believe otherwise.
  9. I'm never satisfied with a loss, but after leading and blowing the first game, I was having slight nightmares about starting 0-6, so I guess I really can't complain after these six games. I won't be satisfied with .500 ball much longer though.
  10. It was definitely Jack Gould. Heard it on the radio or something.
  11. I personally wish that he would have busted out Takatsu, I know we all want to see what this guy can do and that KC could definitely have been thrown for a loop. Oh well, on to today's game.
  12. it's been said before, but that is still what I don't get. The guy is a one inning pitcher, yet Ozzie brings him in for one batter, then brings him back out the next inning, which as fine, but then to bring him back out the last inning seemed like an obvious no-no to me. I can honestly say that I crapped in the ninth when Politte came out and got a dreadful feeling in my stomach. We all know that feeling hasn't gone away!!! I need there to be another game soon!!
  13. Nice work Johnny Damon, simply by not shaving or cutting your hair you are becoming one of the most recognizable faces in the game of baseball!!! Hell of a marketer really, I mean, if you think about it, he's simply an average to above average outfielder, but now he has the entire baseball world talking about him.
  14. Damaso is awesome, and locking him up for that long is a great deal for the Sox. It's weird that he doesn't get much pub, but I guess among Latino Sox fans there are plenty of other higher profile latinos to look up to.
  15. I guess that's true, I am not real well informed on how that works, but I thought the word was we were trying to work out a trade, usually you wouldn't just stop the trade talks and let us have him for nothing but a savings of 25 Gs
  16. Florida would be fools to just let us have him back without getting anything in return. I'm sure we had to have given them something, a low minor leaguer, cash, a case of steaks.
  17. Don't talk smack until we're sure that we don't get him!!! I'm sure with our outfield situation we won't though.
  18. As a fan that lives downstate I rarely make the 2-2.5 hour drive anytime other than weekends, the half price nights are always nice because I get to see a fuller Cell on TV, it's too bad that there are so few, but almost all offdays are mondays and tuesdays so it's the nature of the beast I guess.
  19. Just a little annoyance to me is the continued speculation that Hurt and Oz won't get along. They seem to have a non-sexual mancrush on each other, why don't these people realize it?!?
  20. If I recall correctly the beer was $3 for a plastic bottle from a vendor and more expensive for the larger drafts from concession stands. I highly reccomend going to the Mexican food stand down the third base line at TEP. I got a carne asada burrito there that was $5.50, but it was nothing but meat and tortilla and tasted awesome. Also, the big pretzels are only $2
  21. I liked the first article a lot, all of the stuff he lists could happen, let's just hope that all of it does!!
  22. Parque pitched for the DBacks at one of the games I as at out in Tucson as a lot of you know, but I was sitting in the lawn in left field right by the DBack bullpen and saw him up close and talked to him a little. Poor little fellow doesn't look like he'll ever be back in the bigs. On a side note, he looked like a kid swimming in his jersey, I didn't remember how small that dude is.
  23. Cardinals, Ozzie Smith was my favorite player growing up until a guy named Frank Thomas came along! After Ozzie left I lost interest a little in the Cards and got really crazy about the White Sox. Also, like everybody else, my second favorite team is always whoever is playing the Cubs.
  24. That's delicious and as impressive as he was last year I'm surprised that I haven't heard it elsewhere.
  25. I agree, that's why I like the flexibility. Willie can back up Rowand in center once in awhile and play the majority of games at 2b. Uribe can then play 2b once a week or against lefties and also spell Valentin when needed. I think both of them will be able to get quite a few at bats.
