Hey everyone! I's rankings week at FutureSox. The Just Missed List is published today: https://www.futuresox.net/2025/08/11/futuresox-2025-white-sox-midseason-ju/ We also recorded with Jesus Cano of Baseball America last night and he's seen all the guys out in Arizona.

$8.8 billion is a valuation. You can make that argument that they should sell a chunk of the team at that valuation to get capital but how much money do you actually think the family has on hand? It's not $8 billion. Yeah the Bears aren't asking for any money for the actual stadium apparently.

It's puzzling. Big gains from some lower level guys. McDougal has really broken out. Oppor and LaCombe are very interesting with great stuff. Some relievers have popped. Shane Murphy is really good. Hagen has had issues all year. I think Schultz is fine and was mostly struggling due to a knee injury that he was trying to pitch through. AAA is a b****. These guys are one step away from the majors and they use a new baseball and the ABS system for the very first time. The baseballs are inconsistent too. Lots of guys have complained about them. It's supposedly the big league ball though. I do really want to see Schultz and Smith with the big league staff though. I think Katz is very good.

He's topping out at 95 mph. That's not going to work. He was like 95-97 in college and touching 99. Blake Larson looked really good in instructional league according to reports but he had Tommy John surgery in February. He should be in Kannapolis at some point in 2026.

Well it’s not a miss yet. That’s important to note. Definite red flags though.

The one difference is that Hagen still doesn’t really get hit. His control is atrocious though.

Not just control. His stuff isn’t even good. He’s been a massive disappointment. They passed on really good hitters to take him too.

It's Dombrowski. He was pissed at Sox because he thought he had a deal for Crochet at last year's deadline and Sox decided to wait until offseason. He thought he could get Robert for scraps.

They're picking up the option. I didn't believe it before but they will.

My guess is Martin, Cannon and Smith in rotation. Burke, Vasil and Taylor in some capacity. Schultz early in the season. Hopefully Smith at some point. Plus returns from Adams, Thorpe, Bush etc at some point. I’m guessing they add at least one veteran starter too.

Tauchman requested to stay due to his daughter’s health stuff. He’s arb eligible. Getz noted that a decision doesn’t have to be made yet. They can tender him and keep him or trade him before tender deadline. They have options. This is ridiculous and makes no sense. I was stunned that they’d pick up the option but Jeff Passan gave it some clarity. He said Robert would likely get a 1/15 deal this offseason as a free agent so 1/20 is fine for a team like the Sox essentially. Correct

Top 15 prospect in the system. Meidroth type with more pop.

I still think he moves. I have no faith that they’ll actually pick up his option. I was just saying that if they bring him back and I’m wrong, the team is kind of set right now

If Robert is on the team, it would be Benintendi and Tauchman on the corners with the young guys on the infield. This is the team.

It’s not really #13 and #14 prospects. Pipeline isn’t updated. Cruz is #17 at BA. Good shortstop but 5% walk rate and no power in ACL. Franklin isn’t on T30 and was available to entire league in Rule 5 and nobody was interested. Great deal For Cubs imo.
