Robert "Top Priority" for Philly
Totally disagree. He’s a great headliner and probably the best one available. If I could get Miller, plus one of Crawford/Caba and two other pieces, that’s a pretty good deal. I’d probably take a gamble on Mick Abel too. They line up well.

7/6 Games
So it’s a 44% K rate overall. With a really good 12% walk rate. That lacks context though. He struck out 28 times in first 48 PA. Then the hitting instructors came and worked with him. He has a 174 wRC+ in Low-A as an 18-year-old.

Cease To Padres per Passan
That makes no sense. Hes not going to do that.
-
7/6 Games
He’s not. This is a bad post.

Cease To Padres per Passan
I just don’t think anyone meets the asking price

Cease To Padres per Passan
I never said that was realistic. I don’t think Crochet is getting traded though and definitely not to the Orioles. The White Sox didn’t need a 26-year-old Joey Ortiz as a headliner. I’m glad they got the Padres package instead

Cease To Padres per Passan
Jim Callis was on an Orioles podcast and he told them that Crochet would likely cost one of Cowser/Kjerstad and one of Basallo/Mayo. It’s not happening. Mike Elias will try and use Connor Norby and Dylan Beavers. Just let Baltimore acquire Flaherty again.

I just don’t think it’ll ever be Baltimore

That’s why I think he’s going 1. Cleveland usually ignores it and they might save $2 million

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Yeah I think he brings back a lot. I’m wondering if they attach something to him to get more from a club too.

I don’t believe that Kurtz or either pitcher is being considered.

7/4 Games
Yeah it’s time. It’s a younger man’s job.

Class doesn’t seem very good. They need a new director and direction.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Th The issue is that the Sox don't get the perks of small market clubs. Can only draft in the top 6 one time instead of twice in a row, they don't receive extra competitive balance draft picks like small market clubs do and they don't get extra money to spend internationally. They're a large market club. They need to act like it.

I was joking Exactly this.

SouthSideSox's staff leaves SouthSideSox
I’d love to produce more written content at FutureSox. I just have a family and a career and we can’t really pay anyone. It is what it is. I still break stories ahead of people who are actually paid to cover the team occasionally though. That’s always fun.

Griffin will be the cheapest Seems like Cleveland at 36 makes sense
-
2024 - MLB Draft Thread
Yeah he'd take at least $3.5 million I'd assume.

2024 - MLB Draft Thread
Makes sense. A lot depends on Cleveland. If Wetherholt doesn’t go 1, he’s on the board at 5.
-
2024 - MLB Draft Thread
They can basically spend $15.3 million on the whole class. Saving a little bit in round 1 would go a long way. Just depends who is on the board I guess.
-
2024 - MLB Draft Thread
This likely means that they're going underslot at 5 though. They'll need the extra $$.

2024 - MLB Draft Thread
Yeah it’s definitely a bad draft. The guys at the top are fine but it’s thin on high school position players. Really lacks HS talent and shortstops. The prep pitching class is really good but that’s frightening.

7/1 Games
This team is totally gassed. They need a break.

2024 MiLB Catch All
Likely Riley Gowens

I'm not a fan of this class. Konnor Griffin is my preference because he has the most upside in the class. I'd be fine with Montgomery or Wetherholt as quick movers though.
