Having Hoffman get injured was a punch in the gut for me because he was the guy that I wanted at #3. However, this seems to be shaping up nicely for the White Sox. Kyle Freeland from Evansville is very intriguing to me as well. If the White Sox want Rodon or Aiken, there is a good chance that one of them will be available. If they are both gone, they can choose between Freeland and Kolek. I think it's a win-win either way. Freeland is a LH starter with a 3 pitch mix that is both safe and an upside play. There's a good chance that Freeland will still get a lot better and he already has fantastic command. I like Kolek personally and wouldn't be upset with that pick but if given the scenario, taking Freeland at #3 wouldn't upset me either. It's getting closer guys but the bottom line is that the Sox need to hit with this pick.

Rob (Lime Rock, CT) Tyler Danish has been impressive so far this year. I know the delivery is far from ideal, but do you think he stays as a starter? Potential # 1 stuff or is that too optimistic? Thought he was pegged for the bullpen but many guys think that.

Boers is awful. Mully and Hanley are awful too. Still though, I never even turn on 1000. That lineup is garbage. Waddle offers nothing in the afternoon and the other stuff is bland radio with too much national radio. 670 will have some lineup changes fairly soon. I think Boers will finally retire but there's really nobody to put with Bernstein. Holmes tanked the ratings on McNeil's show and there's still a chance that Danny Mac will jump to WGN. Seems like McNeil is tiring of his own partner as well. I think that Bernstein and Goff together in the midday slot would work giving Mcneil afternoon drive. I have no idea who Mac's partner would be though.

As I said with Hoffman, it’s hard to see a guy improving his draft stock too much after a year of merely rehabbing, so the decision not to sign could be the decision to risk the recovery period and a year of pitching in independent ball before being drafted again. That’s quite a risk when stacked against $1 million and a year of rehabbing with the best possible treatment. This thread has just been depressing me lately. If Rodon and Aiken go 1-2, the Sox are in a tough spot. Apparently they don't want Kolek. If that's the case, I don't want the Beede's or Nola's of the world at #3 overall. I would either take Alex Jackson or draft Jeff Hoffman anyway if I could get him underslot. It's better value. Maybe I'm crazy.
