  1. Yep. Should start there next week
  2. He's in Kannapolis because that's where everyone is going to sign. My bad, guys. He'll be in ACL
  3. I love that pick. Quick mover who can start. Bargain at that price IMO. This bonus leaves the Sox right around $1.6 million to play with. George Wolkow is signing officially tomorrow. He's in Kannapolis. I'm guessing he's getting close to $1 million. Gordon is probably $150-$200K. $10K or so for Franklin. That would allow them to do like $250K each for Nishida and LaCombe if they need to as well.
  4. I wrote about the draft class for FutureSox. Lots of Mike Shirley quotes here: https://soxmachine.com/2023/07/2023-white-sox-draft-recap-shirley-leads-process-behind-well-rounded-class/
  5. There are lots of rumors linking Chris Getz to Northwestern opening. Just not sure if he’s interested

Jacob Gonzalez, Calvin Harris, Park and Nishida should all go to Kanny

I bet Montgomery moves on Tuesday
  8. I think he's a starter. They think he's a starter. He might not be overslot. I could see it being like $900K though which would be over.
  9. It seems like Calvin Harris, Christian Oppor and George Wolkow will all be overslot signings and Seth Keener might be as well. I’m also expecting Nishida and LaCombe to receive more than $150K.
  10. Thinking about it just now, I’m guessing that the league wanted to guarantee that the worst 3 records who are eligible would at least be guaranteed to pick 7-9. That has to be what it is.
  11. Totally agree with you. The rule makes no sense. I’ve asked everyone the same thing.
  12. So here’s the rule essentially: large market teams are ineligible for lottery in back to back years if they picked top 6 basically. Small market clubs no more than two years in a year. Basically, Nats and Rangers can’t pick top 6 next year. If Washington finished with worst record in the league, highest they can choose is 10th. It helps the Sox but there’s basically no incentive for Sox to be intentionally bad next season
  13. It bothers me that they went by record because Washington literally isn’t allowed to pick higher than 10th next year.
  14. I think Gonzalez might be underslot because Teel supposedly is. Even if it’s like $4.2 million, I’m guessing Taylor is in $1-$1.3 range and Keeler is like 800-900K. Wolkow should be around $1.2 million as well. That’s pretty close to their pool.
  15. Joe Doyle has him at #350 fwiw: https://futurestarsseries.com/2023-mlb-draft-the-top-614-prospects-dylan-crews-max-clark-paul-skenes/
  16. I would think it's college seniors now
  17. Royals again! I think the Sox were taking Picard in round 6.
  18. Probably.
  19. I don't know. I haven't really thought about that.
  20. I think the 5th round could be the overslot prep spot for the White Sox
  21. Hahn probably had some influence at pick #15 but GM's arent making these picks anymore. The scouting report is taking the guys who they think are best in each spot who also fit into the bonus pool. White Sox should have some extra $$ to play with.
  22. Maybe slightly but not by much. Gonzalez might be though.
  23. I was just on the call with Shirley. He thinks they got two first rounders tonight. 4 pitch mix, loud stuff, was excellent on the cape and this fall. Said they wouldn't have had a shot at him had he pitched this season.
  24. I think the Sox should take Joe Whitman
  25. I’ve heard that Pirates might float Thomas White to 42. I’m guessing it’s around $4 million.
