**White Sox playing a baseball game vs Oakland**
Chicago White Sox replied to Brian's topic in 2018 Season in Review
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 03:28 PM) At least Leury is in center. Gonzalez is so boring. I'd much rather watch a fringy guy like Stephens or Guerrero out there every 5th day if this team is going to be terrible. Totally agree, but better for their development to have Gonzalez eat some innings for a coupe of months. -
Avi ... the man nobody's discussing YET

Lol Greg, only you could love Davidson after his horrible 2017 but be disappointed in him after a much improved start to 2018. -

QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 02:10 PM) Is it though? Look at how much Davidson is walking and he's not hitting very well right now either. Davidson has a .169 BABIP. He’s had some bad luck including last night. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 11:54 AM) Moncada's stock was way down compared to what it had been a few months before when the WSox got him. I know I follow KLaw closely to a fault, but he wasn't even a top 5 guy anymore for him. Boston clearly saw some things they were concerned about, which is why he was no longer untouchable. It's up to the WSox and Yoan to fix these holes now Ehh, Law may have been down on him, but the rest of the prospect community universally considered him a top 3 prospect and some still had him right at the top.

QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 10:55 AM) IMO if you're hitting around .240 you have to hit 40 bombs or you're not useful. You’ve really been saying some mind-boggling things lately. Moncada batted .230 last year and still put a wRC+ of 104 and would have been worth 3 to 4 WAR depending on his defense. Maybe not the ideal outcome, but certainly a useful player.

Can I Revise My Seasons Win Total Prediction?
Chicago White Sox replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 08:42 AM) With few exceptions, they are playing all around awful. The errors, baserunning gaffes, are occurring almost every game and by the boatload. It is one reason I want the Sox to draft Madrigal. Probably comparing him to Altuve is unfair, but little guys do flourish. He could be a RH Adam Eaton who can play middle infield. And on top of it, his baseball IQ is supposedly off the charts. It's one thing this team needs. Saladino is probably the highest baseball IQ on the roster. He hardly plays. I'd say Yolmer is probably next, and it's up in the air if he really is a regular player on a contender. Everyone else is iffy. I think its a big need. Maybe some of his baseball smarts could rub off on others. I agree with the first part. We’re just playing sloppy baseball and I blame Renteria for that. He made some comments about last night’s debacle and didn’t even seem too upset at the players. He’s got to be on top of these guys and hold them accountable for their f***ups. Can’t be a player’s coach all the time. As for your second point, we definitely need more baseball intelligence on our roster, but I don’t think you address that through the draft. Being fundamentally sound & focused at all times has to be engrained in the organization’s culture & development system and we’re not seeing that at moment. I think adding some veterans in the coming years will help to some extent. And I agree about Yolmer’s baseball IQ and am starting to believe he may be an everyday player. He’s probably been the most impressive player this year for us on the positional side. If he can maintain most of the power he’s flashed he has a chance an all-around good 3B. -
QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:51 PM) Also, wouldn't it be Sox luck to have nothing go right? This could be our payback from the baseball gods for winning that 05 series. Suddenly, everything goes wrong. Wasn’t the last decade our punishment?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:40 PM) There's been nothing on Hansen (reminds me of the sox being super quiet on Rodon last year).. getting me a bit nervous there. They said he’s just started a throwing program and is effectively at the beginning of spring training.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:22 PM) Vizquel will be the manager of the next White Sox playoff team... You’re really pushing this.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:20 PM) It's lack of focus. The athletic play doesn't give him time to do anything but react. The previous ground ball is a piece of cake. He took his eyes off the ball. Which is why Tim should be on the bench tomorrow. Ricky has to be tougher on these guys. The lack of concentration on that play could have theoretically cost us this game.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:12 PM) I fully expect us to take 2 out of 3 from Houston, because White Sox 100% what will happen.
-
Ok now this s*** is like Benny Hill. What a f***ing joke.
-
Oh boy this isn’t good.
-
Come on Avalin, get out of this jam!
-
QUOTE (aryzner @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:04 PM) This is so White Sox of them to do nothing against a guy who's been knocked around by every other team he's faced this season so far. This literally happens every year. It is a constant. Poor advance scouting?
-
Nine groundouts for Mengden tonight.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 10:51 PM) He's consistently had the best at bats this year. At least he is dangerous at the plate. He’s definitely impressed me this year. The improvement in the quality of his at-bats vs. last year is significant. The average is a bit deceiving too as he’s gotton super unlucky on balls in play. He’s definitely an improved player.
-
That sucks, at least it was moderately exciting.
-
I’ll definitely take that start for having not pitched in 8 days and facing a pretty good lineup. Lopez doesn’t deserve a L tonight, let’s seeif the bats can wake up and prevent that from happening.
-
I’m f***ing done with this dude, OMG that was cringe worthy.
-
Yolmer has probably been the most impressive player on the Sox this year.
-
QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 10:19 PM) We're having good AB's vs Megden and putting the ball in play. Hitting a good chunk of em hard. I think we'll break through here soon. Need Lopez to stay the course. Keep the pitch count from getting too out of hand. Are you the guy who claims to be the jinx? Because if so, you may be on to something

Could use a Davidson bomb right about now.
