  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 05:48 AM) I wonder how long Dedelow has to destroy rookie ball before the Sox move him up.. The K rate with that level of power is super impressive, even if it's somewhat a product of the Pioneer Leauge. Really sucks we have such a glut of OFs in the lower minors, because he'd be a guy that I'd like to push to Winston-Salem next year. I hate the idea of a 23 year old starting off in low A. These type of guys should pushed to see if you potentially have a real prospect. Worried he'll suffer the same fate as Booker and eventually rot on the bench behind the big name guys.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 04:47 PM) That is not what I was arguing and again, the sox aren't valuing defensive accolades like you are. If Beer puts up numbers even better than his freshman year, are you changing your tune? I'm firmly on the Turang train as I've mentioned several times and as fathom said, Kelenic is getting alot of buzz currently. It's going to depend if the sox want a kid ready 4-6 years down the road or one 2-4 years. Hell, noone has even mentioned pitching yet which would be a complete 180 from all of this. I just find it funny considering you were one of the many here wanting Beer months ago (even have an avatar propping him) and now all of a sudden changing your tune. I'll admit I changed my tune on Beer when I finally realized he was likely limited to 1B. And I'm not against drafting a 1B prospect in the first round, but most drafts have at least two elite talents and I'm not taking a bat-only guy at 1-1 or 1-2 unless my scouts are certain he's the greatest power bat in years. Maybe Beer is that guy (although I'm doubtful), but if you take him it better be based on merit and not on his potential signing bonus.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 03:51 PM) You are probably right (less of a surprise though as Gendry has been confirmed to return this season), but they hinted at Lady Stoneheart a few times, so I could still see it. What were those hints?
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 03:25 PM) Yea I don't think introducing a new character in Lady Stoneheart is smart. Gendry would be my guess Agree. Unfortunately, once someone says there is a surprise return next week, the odds on favorite has to be Gendry.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 02:03 AM) No he wouldn't be. Kid was putting up legendary numbers as a freshman. I have 0 doubts he'll be fantastic next year. His bat is special. Obviously with the sox recent top picks, they don't value the defensive side of the game others do. I'm personally more on the Turang train, but lets not act like Beer isn't a top 5 talent in the country. He may be a top 5 talent, but why are we passing on a top two talent for him? If there is a pitcher with ace potential or a five tool SS or CF prospect (even if HS), you take that player every day of the week over an offense-only player like Beer. Again, don't get cute when you have a top two pick in the draft, take the BPA and find ways to leverage your bonus pool elsewhere in the draft.
  6. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 01:58 PM) He tried to help Ned but Ned wouldn't listen and got himself killed. LF just stuck with the winning side there. I'm not sure how he was responsible for Cat other than setting the wheels in motion of a conflict between 2 great houses (which actually started with Jaime/Cersei f***ing and getting caught by Bran....something he had nothing to do with). How did he get Rickon killed? Are we to believe he was behind Theon's coup? Have you actually watched the show? Don't you remember when Littlefinger betrayed Ned via the fake coup? He basically got Ned killed. Maybe you're confusing him with Renly, who Ned didn't listen to. Regardless, Littlefinger is a bad, bad dude. There is no gray with him other than his love/obsession for Catelyn & Sansa. I think you're taking your contrarian role a bit too far here.
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 10:25 PM) Beer under slot and spread the money to later. Beer would be a terrible pick at #1 or #2 IMO. Get the most dynamic talent possible at the top of the draft and go underslot in round 2 if need be. You don't get cute when picking this high.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 07:07 PM) Did they decide on Lopez? Last I read they had not decided yet. He's already listed as the starter on the team's website for next Friday.
  9. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 05:57 PM) Sox have an interesting choice to make between Lopez and Giolito. Not sure which I want to see called up first. Not really a choice, Lopez is coming up next Friday.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) Can Sox throw a guy out stealing anymore? You mean like they did earlier this game with JBJ?
  11. So far so good for the key guys at Winston-Salem: Dunning: 5 IP, 2 R, 5 K, 1 BB, 4 H, 1 HR, 51/73 strikes Collins: 2/2, 2B, BB, 0 K (OPS now at .790) Jimenez: 1/3, 2B, 0 K (OPS now at .927)
  12. Sanchez flips one out to left center to cut the deficit in half. And Anderson slaps one through the right side of the infield to tie the game.
  13. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 12:51 PM) If I said I watch a lot of Padres and Giants baseball I'd be lying, but the Sox *have* to be the worst team in baseball. Pelfrey and Shields in a rotation, guys like Sanchez and Saladino hitting in the middle of the order. This is rough Don't forgot the Dutch Oven. When Miguel Gonzalez is arguably your second best starter you know things are bad.
  14. Double off the Green Monster for our DH Saladino!
  15. Holy s***! Someone finally takes advantage of the freebie bunt! Delmonico is so f***ing awesome!
  16. Pelfrey gives up another HR, this time to Chris Young. 2-0 Red Sox.
  17. Pelfrey serves up a meatball to put the Red Sox up 1-0. The rotation (outside Rodon) is doing its part to catch the Phillies.
  18. Moncada with a .214 BABIP, at some point the bad luck has to end for him.
  19. I can't believe people actually want abandon ship with Anderson in year one of our rebuild.
  20. Any predictions on who takes Lopez's spot in Charlotte's rotation? Got to think one of the AA guys gets promoted. I'm going to say Guerrero gets the bump up. Today will mark his 46th AA start and he's been absolutely incredible all year in his second go-around with Birmingham. He really deserves a promotion. And unlike Kopech, Guerrero should have no real innings cap, so there should be no concerns about promoting him only to have to replace him in a few weeks.
  21. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20170806 Lopez's last AAA start will be televised on CSN+ at 4:00pm CST.
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 12:16 AM) I didn't have Delmonico in my top 30. Some of the others did. He was tough to fit. Will you guys be providing your indivual lists? Just curious where certain guys like Gillaspie, Delmonico, etc. slotted amongst the different contributors.
  23. Apparently Eloy was robbed of extra bases in his previous at-bat. Kid is an absolute beast.
