  1. Not how you want to start the inning. Peavy is going to have to battle.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) Rey Olmedo, your time to shine. Someone please ban Caulfield for dropping Rey Olmedo's name twice in this thread. I actually think he's trying to jinx the game.
  3. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) I think Paulie, Dunn, Viciedo each should get a day off during a 3 interleague series. Agree with this. I'd rather not have any of them sit two days if possible.
  4. Rios is so f***ing awesome this year even when he's not trying to be.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:46 PM) See Teahen, Mark. Rinse and repeat. They probably made the classic mistake of buying high on a player coming off a career year. Not typical White Sox GM'ing style from KW at all. It doesn't work with mutual funds, it doesn't usually work out with players with relatively pedestrian career stats at this stage of their careers to expect a repeat. Let's not compare him Teahen. At least Keppinger can crush lefties and play multiple positions. He may end up being overpaid if used in a platoon or reserve role, but he'll still be a useful player for us.
  6. At least both teams are playing stupid tonight. Let's attack their bullpen right out of the gate.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:41 PM) So what do we attribute the poor overall quality of play (despite the record)? It used to be we could blame Ozzie and his coaching staff, but what's the excuse this time for our suddenly porous defense and brain cramps across the spectrum? Normally, the White Sox were pretty well prepared to play last season, with the exception of Tigers/Royals games. Our defense will be fine, we're just playing stupid and lazy baseball as of late.
  8. Amazing how quickly the momentum can change.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:36 PM) WTF is he doing i would bench his dumbass right now.............no excuse EVER for that to happen. What is McEwing doing? How far could De Aza have gotten before someone told him to head back??
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:32 PM) Better than Flowers and Viciedo Unfortunately this is true.
  11. No hits but Peavy with two great ABs tonight.
  12. Nice pitch Peavy! Now let's get some f***ing runs!
  13. Come on Peavy, don't walk him.
  14. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) How is Washington's bullpen? I know their rotation is solid. They got some good arms, but I'll take my chances against them, especially if they're forced to use 3 or 4 of them tonight.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:13 PM) Protip: don't first ball hunt Gonzalez when he has this many pitches. Yeah, we need to keep working the counts and get him out of this game early. Could help us tomorrow and Thursday.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:09 PM) The thing with Viciedo that's frustrating, is that he hasn't shown that he's a good baseball player. He's got bat speed and incredible power, but he has no process at the plate. He's still a work in process, especially against RHP. A little surprised he's striked out twice already though.
  17. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) without whom we'd have two more losses... it's early guys. seriously. No doubt. It's frustrating, but let's not jump to conclusions based 6 1/2 games.
  18. Nothing more frustrating than watching a guy go from 3-0 to a strikeout. Having said, Viciedo is probably going to hit a HR in his next AB.
  19. 51 pitches through 2 innings for Gio. Now we just need Peavy to be a bit more efficient. I'd love to get to their bullepn early tonight.
  20. What the hell was Harper thinking.
  21. It could have been better, but I'll take 33 pitches and a run in the 1st against Gio.
  22. Come on Tank, let's f*** Gio up.
  23. I think this having to win multiple years in a row to expect fans to show up at the park is complete bulls***. If a team is in first place in the middle of any given season, then fans should want to come to the park. Why else are you a fan if you don't want to watch your team when they're actually competitive? I don't blame anyone for not supporting a s***ty product and obviously I wouldn't expect season ticket sales to increase without sustained success, but in terms of single game tickets the product on the field right now is all that should matter. It might take some time for expections to catch up with actual results, but once a team is clearly in a playoff race the fans should want to be at games supporting their team. How a team did the previous season or how they may do the next season should be irrelevant. I guess I don't get what your point is Marty.
