Still here for…reasons

Time to earn that three year deal Leury.

The problem is Tony is a legit cancer and is slowly eating away at this team’s soul. I still feel a change at manager & hitting coach could potentially save this season, but that’s obviously not happening. And with all the injuries and shitty coaching from Menechino we probably aren’t capable of overcoming Tony right now. We will just contain to play shitty, lifeless baseball as our season gradually withers away. All because Reinsdord wants to prove a couple of geezers still got it.

I don’t understand why I’m still watching this game.

Got to think Colas gets the bump soon.

Like we’re willing to throw away the season and not even see if maybe he’s part of the problem. Fucking insanity, but par for the course with an organization that prioritizes loyalty over accountability.

How the fuck does Menechino still have a job??

Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?
Yup, just a question of how much.

What’s funny to me is you have this completely lifeless, underperforming team and as manager you have a chance to insert a young exciting player into the lineup and possibly revitalize the club. Instead, we got to give at-bats to Leury Legend and his 25 wRC+ because reasons. Hopefully Sosa takes advantage of this opportunity because he may not get many more shots to claim a spot on this roster.

It honestly seems like this may of happened. I could see Tony batting him lead off and hoping he fails to help his case to play his shitty vets.

Saw this and it‘s really pathetic. He’s going to carry that water until the very end.

Is La Russa actually insane? Like I’m super happy Sosa is playing but why does he need to hit lead off? I thought Tony said he was trying to take pressure off the kid like two days ago?

Today is a must win game. It’s really that simple. Win today or blow this shit up. Let’s see what these guys are made of coming off an embarrassing performance yesterday. If they have any heart, they come out and beat the fuck of these Orioles. Also, we better get Sosa in the starting lineup. My pitchfork will be ready & waiting for that lineup card to be released.

Lenyn Sosa joins the White Sox; 2 years later, Banana Ball to Chicago
So we call up a top 5 prospect in the middle of a breakthrough season and then let him rot on the bench for a week, breaking up his rhythm, burn an option, and probably rework his swing with Menechino so he learns chop pitch after pitch into the ground. The best part is Hahn probably deserves more scorn for this as he should be aligned with Tony on the plans for Sosa up-forty or not called him up at all. This franchise went from one of the most exciting in all of baseball to an absolute shitshow in a single year. Reinsdorf can’t go soon enough.

Fire Tony Chant
I wish the Hall of Fame would consider removing him for this shit show of a managing performance. That would be the one thing to get him to throw in the towel early.
-
Menechino is movable
Menechino should have always been fired regardless of a short hot streak.

SOX GT 6/24 - BEGINNING OF A 3 GAME WIN STREAK
One hit in seven innings against the Orioles is beyond fucking embarrassing.

Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?
As other have alluded to, the Sox can’t “right the ship” when they start five major league caliber hitters and only have two quality bullpen arms available on a given night. Getting mostly healthy is therefore critical, but the odds of everyone coming back for this amazing 1983 stretch run is not happening. Reinforcements will be needed. It’s really that simple. At a bare minimum, go get someone like Tyler Naquin to factor into the RF mix and a couple of bullpen arms. If a more impactful LH bat becomes available then great, but we can’t ignore this need altogether. This idea we’ll have too many hitters is insane when we’re losing three players once certain nights. Below is the appropriate level of depth we’ll need to overcome this churn. Anderson, SS Vaughn, DH Robert, CF Abreu, 1B Naquin, RF* Pollock / Eloy, LF Grandal, C* Yoan* / Burger, 3B Sosa, 2B

He almost collided into his precious Leury so I’d expect Sosa to ride some serious pine this weekend.
