  1. That’s true, but I do think the majority of the board would have been good with Joc.
  2. He doesn’t have to fake anything, but as a result of those voiced opinions we’ll never have basic gun regulations in this country.
  3. Just out of curiosity, but when did you become a liberal?
  4. Your missing the point. You acknowledging you’d love to get rid of all guns is what every gun zeolet wants to hear so they never have to cede an inch. The sooner we all accept guys are a part of this country the sooner we can put basic regulations in place that would keep people so much safer.
  5. You’re the big bad liberal who wants to take away everyone’s guns, so we can’t have basic laws & regulations such as bans for assault weapons, extended magazines, and bump stocks. As a result, my kids are less safe on a daily basis because people like you are unable to agree to a middle position and that fucking sucks.
  6. You are the reason we can’t have even basic gun control laws in this country and everyone is less safe as a result. Way to fucking to go.
  7. Yikes, it’s worse than I though then. Do you think it puts some of the front office guys at risk of leaving down the road?
  8. James, how much do you think La Russ is dictating our personnel decisions? Obviously we were pursuing Lynn prior to hiring Tony, but there is a connection there. Sounds like you’re saying La Russa pushed for Eaton. And if the Hendriks rumors are true, some people are attributing that to La Russa loving a sure fire closer. I’ll be a bit honest, I’m terrified at the thought of Tony highly influencing our roster devious.
  9. What were the win totals for each of those guys? Bauer won 17 games in 2017 despite not great advanced metrics and it’s possible that inflated his year 1 arb figure. Just looked at Nola‘s 2018 season and he also won 17 games, but was projected for the same year one arbitration amount as Bauer. He then went ahead and accepted an extension.
  10. My number are light? I literally just provided the best comp possible for Giolito and that’s exactly how these extensions typically work. On top of that, I scaled up the total dollars by nearly 25%. Why are you comparing a possible Giolito extension to what our position players got in their deals? That’s not how these things work.
  11. I don’t think the $30M figure has any bearing in reality and is just some random number Bruce came up with. I tend to believe they will be around $140M like James is assuming. I also don’t think they want to commit to multiple years for a RF upgrade at this time for whatever reason. Personally I’d have signed Joc for two years, but they may see RF as the next spot to insert a young player as soon 2022 so they can allocate more payroll to pitching, whether that be Colas, Adolfo, Rutherford, etc.
  12. Your so unable to handle any disappointment that you must convince yourself that the worst possible outcome is the most likely? What a sad way to go about life man.
  13. Because Kopech is going to be on a strict innings limit next year and Lopez doesn’t warrant to be anything more than our #7 starter. If we don’t add another legit starter then we likely won’t have the depth to survive a full major league season.
  14. 100% this. The rumors right now point as both Hendriks + Quintana and at minimum they will cost $23M combined if I had to guess, so this only $15M more to spend with is likely bogus.
  15. You need to stop Jack. You will literally take one single rumor or data point that happens to be the most pessimistic view possible and just run with it. How can someone live this way?
  16. Obviously I have no inside info, but that 100% feels right to me based on everting we know. An impact reliever, another decently paid starter, and a low end bat later in the offseason.
  17. With this class I’d go with the rookie. Darnold is a somewhat interesting reclamation project given the Gase factor, but even if you fix him he’ll quickly become expensive.
