  1. I don’t hate Benetti, but my god can he be a total goober at times.
  2. Hopefully you’re right. Would love to see him closer to 94 / 95 in the next couple innings.
  3. I had that same problem earlier with Insp and then when I refreshed his post disappeared.
  4. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but Rodon’s velocity seems a couple ticks down.
  5. Roster resource doesn’t list him either, so you’re probably right.
  6. I hope Eloy hits two bombs today just to shut Insp up for a few hours.
  7. Yes, should have probably listed Zavala at 1B as well. As for Curbelo, he plays both 3B & SS. My guess is him and Sosa get moved around quite a bit.
  8. They’re definitely playing today, it’s just a matter of what time.
  9. Generally speaking our IF depth is pretty weak, but damn that Kannapolis group at least provides some dreaming. Will be fun to see how playing time shakes out there, but it looks they’ll have to rotate guys in the DH spot or give Bush some playing time in LF. Also, no idea what they plan on doing with Ramon Beltre, who is at least semi interesting. Birmingham will actually be damn solid right once Madrigal gets promoted. If Ravera can learn some actual plate discipline he could be a dude. Sheets is simply game power away from being a quality 1B prospect. Even Forbes is worth a follow based on his athletic abilities alone. Not much else to get excited about beyond those two groups. Will be great to have have Burger back at some point, but after that it’s really just org filler outside of Mendick.
  10. With the minor league season still a week away, I figured we could project out the infields for each affiliate and discuss the strengths and weaknesses. Here is how I see them shaking out: Charlotte: 1B: Matt Skole / Zack Collins 2B: Eddy Alvarez SS: Danny Mendick 3B: Ryan Goins (not sure here) Birmingham: 1B: Gavin Sheets 2B: Mitch Roman SS: Laz Rivera 3B: Ti’Quan Forbes Winston-Salem: 1B: Michael Deeb (no idea here) 2B: Nick Madrigal SS: Yeyson Yrizarri 3B: Tate Blackman / Jake Burger* Kannapolis: 1B: Corey Zangari 2B: Amado Nunez SS: Luis Curbelo / Lenyn Sosa 3B: Bryce Bush
  11. And that’s a legit concern. I guess when I say I like Moncada is the #2 spot, I’m going off how I’d leverage him there and it would it simply be another spot in the lineup. Ricky may try and force Yoan to play small ball and move runners over and that would be stupid as fuck. I really hope that isn’t the case, but Ricky does love his bunts.
  12. I honestly just want Moncada to get the most plate appearances possible and I think the #2 works well enough in that regard.
  13. 100% agree. Plus Leury deserves an extended look IMO. If he can stay healthy, I think Leury can be a league average hitter, which would be plenty valuable with his defensive versatility.
  14. That is pretty much the perfect lineup based on the collection of players we have. The only exception is McCann over Wellington, which is odd from my perspective but it does seem like Ricky and/or the front office is really high on him.
  15. Rodon vs. Keller Game will be broadcast locally on NBC Sports Chicago and is the free game of the day on MLB.TV for out-of-towners. Mods - Apololgies is someone else has the right to start this gamethread, just didn’t want Insp to start it and bring bad luck to the season. Feel free to delete if needed.
  16. I think the problem with PECOTA and our team is that we have a ton of high variance guys that could greatly exceed their projections. I honestly feel that Moncada, Jimenez, Rodon, & Lopez will all have good years and be worth quite a bit more than PECOTA is predicting.
  17. I think we win 75 games. We’ll go 30-20 against KC, DET, BAL, & SEA and 45-67 against everyone else.
  18. ?...maybe I overestimated how bad the Mariners are going to be, but I really don’t think that their offense will be significantly better than ours. Outside of Haniger, the rest of those guys are not good, declining, and/or have huge question marks.
  19. We aren’t good either, but we’re better than the four teams I mentioned and that will help out to some extent.
