Isn't Sanchez a good enough defender to play 3rd base? I would play him there if the bat keeps up, Saladino as utility.

I think his nickname is HoT FiRe

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
jamesdiego replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am for one very happy to see the Sox are paying hardball. It seems like every team thinks they can get a bargain on a front line starter with a great contract. We need to rob somebody in a trade for Q. And if they don't want to give it up then just keep him. There is no need to take less than a haul. Please Do Not F'n Take Less Than A Haul Sox ! -
Your response to Sale getting traded to the Red Sox
jamesdiego replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Happy for the front office for getting their guy and finally taking steps to rebuild the franchise. Hopefully they play hardball with Eaton and Q. Exciting time for Sox fans. -
This is kind of laughable. What did become good friends with Jerry? Another as long as you are a part of the White Sox buddy system you get a nice paycheck? I was really hoping this offseason they would be turning over a new leaf after the absolute incompetency of 2016 for the franchise.

The stadium is a ghost town already. I want to see some hard nose team. A bunch of hungry dirt bags who give it all they have and love to play. I don't want to trade Eaton, he can be a leader and rub his pine tar on the youngin's. Give me a bunch of AJ types, with a little less of the asshole.

I could see the Sox leaking info about the Dodgers to try and get Boston to up their offer. As for Sale on the Dodgers, wouldn't feel bad one bit he would be at the same spring training facility. Could get a close up view of him cutting jersey's into chain people and see yearly diatribes from his pulpit about one thing or another. Would be more entertaining to see that kind of fun stuff if he's not on the team anymore. Yo gusto Urias, De Leon, Bellinger, Verdugo, Barnes. I could see LA giving more of a fair price than Boston.

The only hot seat Kenny will be on is when he's bouncing on Jerry's warm lap. He's sadly not going anywhere. This franchise could care less about doing what it really takes to try and build a winner. This circus ride is only for profits and hanging with the boys.
-
Idea of JR "caring" so much about winning right now, is him only caring about making his wallet fat while hanging with his buddies(KW, Hahn, Ventura), who have no clue on how to create a winning organization. This f'n clown show joke of an organization. The Chicago Sting is run better than these guys. Go ahead and bring back Ventura and you will completely lose the southside........as if that hasn't already happened.

Who Will Be The Next Manager of the White Sox
jamesdiego replied to Y2Jimmy0's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I want someone to light a fire under these lame asses. Isn't the old formula when going from a nice guy to go to a hard ass? I would want someone of course with baseball smarts and uses statistics, not just going with his "gut". Someone who commands respect and demands respect for the game, like Carlton Fisk would. Might be past his time. But I would like someone like him. Who that guy is? I have no idea. But I know it's not f***ing Thome, Rowand or Konerko though. Baseball would have to be removed from my life if that happened. It's already taken a toll since I knew this season was lost when they kept Ventura. This team man. Ugh. -
Hawk will keep working as long as he can
jamesdiego replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It was pure pleasure listening to Wimpy again. The guy with his feel good vibes and good natured demeanor is a huge plus for a team that will not be elite for awhile. I think they need to work out a way to bring him in full time again. He makes games for a losing team fun again. Free the Wimperoo! -

Glad you are not making those decisions Miracle. Benetti is top notch. Sometimes his jokes a a bit silly and I'm not a fan of Soxmath(although that's not his fault). But him and Stoney are a great pair, love their banter. Benetti and Wimpy were even better.........love Wimpy, he's my favorite announcer and makes even the Hawk listenable. Used to love Hawk but he really needs to go out to pasture. -
Yanks Owner says Social Media influenced Decision
jamesdiego replied to Hatchetman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) Maybe that's their problem. Listening to fans too much. Worrying about blue seats instead of putting a good team on the field. They just had the wrong blue. They should switch out the green for dark blue seats, that'll sure bring in the fans. Or maybe switch to various human colored seats. Then it would appear that people are sitting in the empty seats. If JR listened to most of his team's fans, he would sell both franchises that he's running into the ground. I think he just listens to his buddies who have proven not to know how to run his team's. And he sure listens to his accountants as well. -
That's hilarious, I'm an idiot.. or just drunk....or a combination of both. I still would have preferred both to Robin with their experience.

Ask for an unreasonable king's ransom for Sale. I could see teams then ponying up less, but still an amazing deal(for us) for Q. Teams might be low balling the Sox since it seemed like Kenny got the short end of the stick on some deals in the past. And teams might think they could get another over on the Sox. Don't f***ing sell low on Sale or Q. The asking price is not too high. And yes, please no god damn ex Sox player as the next manager please? I'd be happy with Martinez or Alomar. It should of been either one of them the last time! F***
-
He needs to be playing more. He could sub a little bit more for Lawrie, and he should most definitely be taking at bats from Garcia.
-
JR is loyal is his friends. Even if they suck at their job.
-
They almost have to do it by this point. There is no choice. Just man up and drop the axe for the better of the team. Well, at least the possibility of being better....... got to god damn try something different Sox!
-
I certainly believe there were players and coaches who voiced complaints. Mainly because it makes absolutely 100% sense that grown men would feel a little odd in a major league f'n clubhouse where a kid is there all the time. And on the field during training. Not exactly the atmosphere professionals might not want to be in. Sure, some guys damn well liked having a kid around all. the. time. But some players and coaches I would bet did not care one f***ing bit for it.
-
Never has so much been made about something so little. Some things I've learned here through all of this: -AL is not very intelligent if he thinks a clubhouse is better learning environment for his kid than school. -Sale is a horrible leader for not keeping business in house. He's choosing friendship with a crappy player who is isn't on the team anymore over the rest of the guys in the locker room. And over the well being of the entire organization. -KW might deserve to be fired for not being great at his job. But this whole situation I don't see too much fault with him. Maybe handled more smoothly, yes. I think there were players and coaches who understandably spoke to him about having a kid there all the time. Pretty frustrating all around. Sox need a stronger manager who does not let players like hothead Sale and his little sidekick Eaton run the clubhouse. They need some kind of organizational change that's for sure. Unlike some others I don't think this will blow over and be forgotten in a week. I think this will fester and distract them.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) From all reports of those close to the team, Minnie's death severely affected Alexei in a way they saw previously with his brother in law. For some, death affects you differently. It's no reason to minimize someone with those stupid pet analogies just because you like a baseball team. My tongue was planted firmly in my cheek when I exaggerated to make my point about things affecting Alexei's concentration. Maybe that was in bad taste with dark humor but in my opinion humor knows no bounds. The point still stands, death is a fact of life we all have to deal with. Many have to deal with even greater tragedies and struggles while working far harder jobs, and they do not get the benefit of excuses being made for them by others. They just have to tough it out and cope with life. Alexei got a regular pass for an entire month of every season because it was cold. To me it all kind of goes with the evaluation of players. Who can best get past all the dramas or distractions of life to hit and catch the baseball. We're all wannabe GM's here with our eval of players, hypothetical trades, our desired lineups. I'm pretty sure real GM's are not taking into account that a player needs a pass for an entire season because their personal grievance. If they did then Alexei would have probably been resigned by the Sox. Reportedly the Sox didn't like how Alexei lost his concentration and made mental mistakes. Well, the reported reason he couldn't he play to their standards last season was Minnie's death. Wasn't it reported later on that during Adam Dunn's historically bad season his son was dealing with some life threatening health problem? Doesn't seem like he gets a pass around here for that season. And being your child seems like it would be even tougher to cope with. I love my latino brother Alexei. I wish him well. He is truly a stand up guy and didn't mean to minimize his pain. But you have to take into account how a player can get past distractions to perform on the diamond.

There will be no defensive liability with Saladino. Period. That is what we know for sure. If he can give anything decent with the bat, then great. He's there for defense and that is what he will provide. Can't make excuses about Minne's death. We have no idea why he he had a down year. And if it was Minnie who ruined his year, (like his father in law a year or two ago), how do we know it won't happen again? What if his dog gets hit by a car? Or the cat gets stuck in a tree all season? Then it would be kick ground ball city. I love me some Lexi, but it was time. Hopefully we get another Cuban to replenish the roster.

Meh, that tweet is BS. Even if Gordon was just using the Sox to up the KC offer, he wouldn't just flat out reject the Sox. He would negotiate a higher offer and see if KC can match it or up their offer to keep him.

I think Gordon is all.. &

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) Why don't you just make a thread called Caulfield where you can talk about whatever you want, since staying on topic in ANY thread is just impossible for you I would read that thread.
