  1. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 30, 2017 -> 07:31 PM) Hung another breaking ball. Theyre sitting on it dufus He doesn't have anything else. Until he gets the curve right, its going to be painful to watch.
  2. The Sox FO bet on Quintana and lost. It sucks, but you gotta move on and hope he can get beyond it. Now, Hahn can work on getting value out of the Sox excellent bullpen and the surprisingly competent Derek Holland.
  3. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 30, 2017 -> 07:00 PM) Hes 1-6 this season. Last year he was decent Cmon man, you know the Giants are bad this season. W-L on a bad team means nothing.
  4. The good news is that since his implosion year with the Sox, Samardzija has been pretty good. Pitchers have bad seasons quite often and bounce back from them, and nothing indicates any injury problems with Q. So there's a good chance he is not broken forever.
  5. Remember when Samardzija had no feel for his out pitch and kept getting hammered all year? Thats happening to Q now.
  6. But yeah, probably not going anywhere this year, possibly not until the deadline next year, if he bounces back.
  7. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ May 30, 2017 -> 06:46 PM) Throwing meatballs this year,what happened? Curve isn't working. Fastball isn't good enough to compensate. He's basically a one-pitch pitcher.
  8. I' d add Narvaez to the list and I think his performance and skill set will be most viable and consistent going forward.
  9. Would be interesting if there are any reports on Giolito tonight, whether he is doing anything different.
  10. Counterpoint - whatever they would have gotten then, it will be less now, and even less in the offseason.
  11. "Full price" doesn't exist. His value decreases every day he is on this team. Which is why his poor start is doubly unfortunate - even if he has a terrific ROS, his value this winter is much less than it was last winter, and will be even less at the deadline next year. The Sox won't be inclined to trade him if he isn't pitching well, so they will just keep decreasing his value.
  12. The other thing that may happen is that the FO may have to get creative and find trade value where it pops up. Maybe they move Leury or Yolmer at the deadline, or they trade Kahnle if they can get a decent return.
  13. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 24, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) I was following on Game Day and specifically looking at exit velocities. There were several hard hit balls but also several hits in the 75-85 mph exit velocity range. He didn't pitch well but he didn't pitch 8 ER, .583 BABIP bad. I know I'm fighting a losing battle with this but I don't think his trade value is remarkably different from what it was a few hours ago. He's had enough bad starts this year that the people who talk him down as a #3 or #4 starter have a lot more ammo. It might not be much different from a few hours ago, but its certainly much different than it was this offseason.
  14. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ May 24, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) How are the Sox gonna move along the rebuild if they don't move Q? Also, the Sox will most likely be pretty terrible over the remainder of Q's contract. Keeping him here during the rebuild doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They just have to adjust what they expect in return. I agree it doesn't make sense to keep him around, but they have to give him another season to rebuild value, like with Robertson. Maybe he gets hot at the end of this year and finishes with nearly normal Q numbers. In that case, they will get less, but not a lot less. If he doesn't rebound before the deadline next year, they are in real trouble, and the rebuild could lengthen considerably.
  15. DL stint to long relief seems pretty optimal for him, yeah. Let Rey Lopez take his starts.
  16. Keep plucking that chicken
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 21, 2017 -> 08:30 PM) Don't even think the pic he used is Robert. It isn't, but if you google Luis Robert, it's the first picture. So that shows you how much work the author did.
  18. The Mets and Mariners were two teams I thought would get wild cards and contend for their divisions. Boy, injuries are a b****.
  19. No I would definitely do a Soto for Robertson deal straight up. The Nats wouldn't tho, and its not a talent thing, its a money thing. Soto for Robertson w/ no money moving would be a great deal.
  20. Still have some more trading to do, but having Robert, Moncada, and Kopech helps. It would help more if a few other MiLBers picked up the pace.
  21. He's done dumb things and smart things, like all managers, but I appreciate his candidness.
  22. Also if that is true it seems pretty unlikely they trade Abreu.
  23. QUOTE (Tony @ May 20, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) @CSNHayes 10s Believe #WhiteSox were outbid. Also heard they wowed Luis Robert w/ video presentation from Renteria/Moncada/Abreu. bit.ly/2pWFhDj Wow When you got it (Cubans), flaunt it.
