Until Eaton's arm is 100% I would imagine he plays CF and Eaton DH's / RF. I can't imagine asking the defensively challenged Cabrera to move to RF. When Eaton is back in ship-shape, maybe AJax moves around the OF as needed. He shouldn't be hitting anywhere above the 6 spot.

Collins calling out Yo for something very benign may not be racially motivated (although it is easy to see how it would be), but it doesn't have to be for the point to stand. There are a lot of Terry Collins' in the baseball world. Some are coaches, some are players, some are scouts, and some are executives. All of them have a rigid idea of how to "play the game the right way" which is such a stupid notion I won't even get into it. The point is that a young, athletically talented black kid with options will probably prefer to play a sport where there are less Terry Collins' to tell him he is wrong to be himself.

I am getting used to the idea of just getting a platoon partner for Avi. Like, Wil Venable or something low $ like that. At least its some form of competition, even if very low ceiling.

I think that projection for the tigers assumes big bounces back by Verlander, Anibel Sanchez and VMart. Otherwide, it's hard to see them being that successful.

Ideally the Sox would sign Desmond and trade for Ethier. Dunno bout that latter part though, seems pretty unlikely.

Yeah, I just used him (edit- Coats) as an example of a guy in the org who can play some corner OF and is RH. It's a bit rough because Trayce filled that role so nicely, but if you're talking about guys who can play defense in the OF and bat RH, it shouldn't be THAT hard to find someone. Guys like Avi and Laroche who have tentative roster spots and no defensive value can more easily be replaced than someone like Desmond or Ethier. I think if they rolled with Avi on the 25 man they would have to have either Leury or Shuck on there too, neither of which are stellar options. Bench would be something like: DH/RF - Sands, Avi OF - Leury or Shuck IF - Saladino C - Avila/Navarro Would be kind of like 2014 with Konerko and having little positional flexibility. Hard to make that work.

Listening to the SSS podcast, and hearing them talk about how Sands projects better than Avi, I am pretty sold on trading for Ethier and signing Desmond instead. An Ethier/Sands platoon could be a really good RFer.
