Ever watch a Maxine Waters, elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders speak man? Just a few examples, but that’s some scary ass shit right there. That is the opposite of human progress right? Like a person can’t listen to that stuff and think this is good. Or that democratic socialist that won. Holy crap that is scary stuff. One only has to examine the simplest of economics to realize how stupid that is, and how that would brutally hurt 100s of millions of people. But people support it over some social issues that get better every year

How to Win the World Series in 2019
Jerksticks replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well yea he gets the guarantee of getting traded to a contender mid season instead of having to roll the dice. Like Balta said, that would probably take more than $25M. Or do a handshake deal saying we’ll overpay him the next year with Arenado. -
I got you down for being in here before his dirty past was created out of thin air.

Si si. I meant the classic overpay for 1 year move we’ve been proposing on here for a decade. -

Not a fan of these words. I like signing Keuchel no matter what and signing Kimbrel to 1yr/25mil. Trade him next deadline paying full contract and grabbing one last major haul of prospects. Then sign Arenado and start winning. -
This actually is an issue all jokes aside

I agree with this. I don’t even know that Harper and Machado are good fits here. Arenado on the other hand is just perfect. Give him $70M a year ffs

30th anniversary of the clocks running backwards

This is definitely replacement level posting. -
And Q has been a disappointment for the cubs this year for sure. I think it’s due to a secret love Q has for the Sox so he’s stinking on purpose.

Can we all try to say Jed instead of Theo since he is the GM. I hate the amount of credit smug Theo gets. Makes me wanna ?

I disagree. I think those issues are pretty settled. Roe v Wade isn’t Going anywhere, even if there were 9 conservative judges. I’d bet everything I own on that. There really aren’t social issues to get mad about or fight for any more. Gays have all the rights, women are thriving, everyone has the same right no matter who they are. I’d look into incarceration of non violent offenders as one of the last things worth protesting or being an activist about. Just nothing worth being mad about anymore. Progressive isn’t needed anymore, we made it.

It’s Game Day in Chicago 6/24 A’s and Sox

Show some respect and leeway to our greatest elder. It’s that simple. -
Where do you go to get highlights of MiLB? Are there certain people to follow on Twitter?

I think the 1 game bonanzee is awesome but the only thing I would change is giving 3-4 days or so of rest before it starts so each team can put its best team out there that night. Then maybe the next day the winner has to fly to the divisional champ to play, thus not getting to use their premier pitching that they gassed on the wild card game. Divisional champs still get the advantage and also 4-5 days to rest.

Why did we ever start putting limits on immigration in the first place? Which congress did it and why?

I’m against all of this but I’m also super pissed at the parents- they are not victims here at all but the kids are. The parents aren’t some war-torn refugees. They are trying to game the system the same way millions of others have: cross illegallywith kid, claim asylum, and then never show up to court. That’s been the way in for quite a while. So acting like they’ve made this million mile trek through the desert dodging land mines and accidentally crossed an invisible border illegally is complete bullshit. These aren’t victims. They don’t need asylum and they are more than likely using their kids or somebody’s kids as props to get released, since that’s been the word on the street for a long time. Shame on Trump and shame on these parents for putting kids in harm’s way. Go to the ports of entry and claim your “asylum”.

Yea for sure. Anybody got an updated report on his stuff? Velocity, movement, top pitches etc? All cunning and guile?
-
Don’t see the point of that. Every single day he wakes up and he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to find the plate. That’s most days. Once every 15-20 days he finds it. You think going reliever and throwing more often maybe fixes that? Certainly possible, but when do the Sox make the change? Seems like an arbitrary point in time
-
The coolest part is how easy it looks like he throws and how easy he spots any pitch. “Oh no big deal...where should I spot my 95 mph sliding sinking fastball...up in the zone?...let it tail to the outside edge?...yea that’ll do.”

He hasn’t been doing too well lately but man he sure has been the victim of some shoddy umpiring during that stretch. I don’t see what the big deal is. A decent hot streak puts him well over 2 fWAR at the break. Would that be so bad?

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
Jerksticks replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well then maybe we should just sign 9 .300/30/100 players on short one year deals and use our prospects to push them out as they develop. Once Gavin Sheets develops into his natural .330/50/150 in two years, he will be able to replace Abreu’s middling .300/30/100. Same for all positions. Once Robert starts popping off .350/45/125s in a year or two, we can easily trade the .300/30/100 STOPGAP center fielder we signed for a below market one year deal. Maybe get a top 150 prospect if we’re lucky, but probably not because those guys are everywhere. Almost every player is flawed somehow man. -
I’m of the opinion that this is not a big deal at all. Clearly people are going to be passionate about their 2018 vote. Well they have tons of time to make sure they are set up correctly. This will impact zero people passionate about voting this fall. AKA the blue wave. I think you should have to bring your ID, recent mail, and SSN on the holiday election day and then you can vote. Isn’t it that simple. Prove you are a citizen, prove where you live, and use the SSN and photo ID to ensure no fraud. One vote in one county.
