  1. For sure. Hey do you know when minor league control starts ticking for a guy like Nunez. He’s spent 4 years in the rookie leagues so does he only have 3 years left?
  2. Any compilation of TJ video? Or any video at all?
  3. Why? I think we have to forget about control. It’s not our problem to worry about. The Sox FO knows all about the issue. If they sept callup these guys then that’s their move. A gesture of respect is not a bad move. As a fan, I’ll be excited to watch.
  4. I think the idea of 4th being a spot that should go to a potential superstar is a bit of a stretch. Teams mess up the first pick all the time. The 4th? Holy moly. If you get a solid major leaguer hell yea. Madrigal was an interesting combination of floor AND ceiling. Super rare. I just can’t be mad at the pick and I’ve tried
  5. I feel ya. Maybe look at the forest beyond the trees a bit. If only 1 of Moncada/Madrigal is an above average major leaguer the Sox are in great shape. Both? Mercy. The future outfield has an excellent chance of being one of the most productive outfields ever assembled. I think somebody on here should already be trying to assemble a top 5 or 10 outfields of all time list. We’re coming for them, with a wrecking ball.
  6. I understand all of these common talking points too. I’m still excited
  7. It has nothing to do with the laws and everything to do with there’s a guy down the street who WILL work that extra time to serve his interests (family etc.). You go ahead and take your 50 days off a year. That guy has just as much a right to work hard as you do to take the easy path.
  8. Haha nice. The whole scooping sports trades is the funniest waste of time a grown man or woman can pursue in my opinion. Maybe that was a bit hyperbolic, but I sure don’t care if I know about a trade a half hour before a team announces it, or a day, or whenever. It’s still not official and I’m not rushing to pass on the info The worst part is the props given out. Like “good job and shout out to TwitterGuy65 and Ken Rosenthal for scooping the trade”. Poor Ken Rosenthal. He spends his whole day as this little rat running around looking for cheese that adds up to nothing. What Ken, you told us an hour earlier than it was announced? Or you were used to send out misinformation? Why do we encourage this waste of time with congrats? Am I missing something?
  9. Why doesn’t he get excused? What if he hits a buncha homers next year? Would that be ok?
  10. That’s absolutely ridiculous and here I never thought I’d ever agree with anything political you post StrangeSox. ? Why does it feel like chicago is the blueprint for doing almost everything wrong?
  11. Totally agree. But let’s hope the mindset change and throwing way harder for an inning makes him effectively wild when off. I’d like to see him touching 97-98 before I get excited
  12. I was driving around a certain south suburb with a girl getting RH when I got the call. I’ll never forget it!
  13. Dude, isn’t Birmingham a ridiculously hard park to hit in? I don’y know how to check that stat but historically it has been. So there’s your sample size for a field opposite of the Reno Aces in the PCL- how did he hit there?
  14. My guess is they call him up at the point where he can finish the season AND retain rookie status for 2019. I bet they want to give him a shot to win that.
  15. And that’s a first inning bomb for Steele
  16. I want blood
  17. What’s the bears version of Soxtalk?
  18. Agree. But Tilson? Cordell sure. But tilson?
  19. Tilson is terrible. Engel at least has upside if you squint. Squint harder, there it is.
  20. Can we make it so nobody can ignore anybody? This is Soxtalk. You have to jump into the jungle and hear all points of view.
  21. Yea I don’t think anybody on earth would take devers over moncada
  22. So i’m In my mid 30’s and I recently started trolling a cubs fan forum for old time’s sake. What you said here is similar to something I’d say over there: SecretJerksticks: “Obviously Lester was never an ace and we all expected him to be a solid #3 this year since he doesn’t have dominant stuff, so what he’s doing this year is frickin awesome. Enough can’t be said for a guy who can’t even throw a man’s strike and just nibbles off the corners all cheap. He’s kicking ass this year out of nowhere and to me is our mvp so far.” The above was an exaggeration and would be a bit obvious but it hides a bunch of insults within the guise of fandom. Ray Durham comment fees this way. Well done and good pick but I’m on to you
  23. Can you get lotto ticket rookie league guys
  24. Agree on all counts. I personally think the Russian thing started as a deflection from the Wikileaks bombshell about the DNC fixing the race for Hillary. And here we are. Based on my experience of looking at politics objectively, it seems wag the dog fake as fuck, the whole Russia thing. Trump is still a fucking defensive little baby idiot, but I’m not buying any of the Russia stuff. Just a hunch I guess
