What’s the one solution if you never ever want to see this happen again?

5/18 GT - Kopech, Dunning, & Cease
Jerksticks replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in FutureSox Board
Yea I think he means are they letting him pitch without working on something. Lot of people still think Michael Kopech has been pitching with his full arsenal this year. There’s just no way. -
I got a little baby and my wife keeps saying he ain’t going to public school all the time now. Sorry wallet ?. Thanks morons. Frickin animals always ruining things. Wait can I say animals here?

Rangers @ White Sox, Moore @ Fulmer, 5/18, 7:10 PM, NBCH+, GT
Jerksticks replied to soxfan49's topic in 2018 Season in Review
Is it time for the Fulmer start where his stuff is working and gets guys out and gets people excited? I love that start even though it’s followed by crap starts. -
It SHOULD be the past. And to me it’s obvious- 4-10k deductibles is all a person or family can get now. But it’s not the past. I’m reminded on here and the news every day that all the people around me are racists and it pisses me off. People just wanted something different. To your our other point, which I love, is what can be done. I really hope Trump goes full steam at drug prices. I think a lot of people think that’s where it starts. I’m not an expert but Smirconish had an expert on the other day exposing how all these middle men basically negotiate the prices of drugs between ICs and Pharma and that Pharma makes so many patents for each drug that generics can’t get in. I truly think a change to Pharma patent law and price negotiation is about to become the president’s focus and it should be captivating news, especially when it gets to SCOTUS. There might actually be a ruling from SCOTUS basically saying “we don’t care that the law protects you, people are being crushed.” That would be unprecedented. Just my prediction and I think it will be the first time everybody backs him. Interesting time to be alive for sure.

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again
Jerksticks replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unless we play .463 ball it seems. I’m all for setting a record in futility with Moncada OPSing .850 and Lopez averaging 6IP per start. -
Maybe so caulfield, maybe so. But I posted the point about the ACA not to discuss what should or shouldn’t have been done, but because the fact that it is literally crushing EVERYBODY as one of the main reasons half the country elected Trump. I was responding to the guy calling half the country racist, which is ridiculous. People aren’t voting because of race or xenophobia, people are voting because of their wallets and their family’s well-being. So when Obama made everybody get dumped off their plans and forced into plans with $5000 deductibles instead of $500-$1000, they were pissed. Now everybody has to scrape what little savings they have to get little Johnny some tests and a surgery. Hillary didn’t really campaign. She just basically stood for “4 more years of the current thing.” And half the country said “F that, I might as well take my chances with the other guy who isn’t a polished politician and sometimes talks about the things that are hurting me.” IT MAKES SENSE!!!!!!! THINK ABOUT IT!!!! GET THE RACE STUFF OUT OF YOUR HEAD! GO TO WORK TOMORROW AND IDENTIFY THE RACISTS. THERE AREN’T ANY! That’s why he won! Everyone got crushed by the ACA! And yes, the few thousand racists in the country were happy too.

Man I think this accounts for like .0001% of Trump voters. 99.999% of people aren’t racist or afraid of different nationalities. Most people of all colors just get up and go to work with people of all colors every day. Generalizing people as racists is disgusting. Just because CNN sends video crews to a white nationalist meeting with a hundred people wearing Trump shirts doesn’t mean the other 60 million supporters are white nationalists. That’s beyond stupid to make that assumption. I’d argue that 60 million or whatever people voted for Trump because they were sick of Washington doing nothing and if anything, hurting them. The ACA stripped every working American of affordable insurance and low deductibles. It helped some people get access to insurance sure, but it crushed everybody else Absolutely crushed. People didn’t want another 4-8 years of the same trends. Like it or not, Obama’s legacy will only be remembered as Donald Trump. That’s just kinda how I see it when I step back and look at it without bias.

http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20150402-the-worst-place-on-earth This toxic lake is one of the most disgusting things ever. Glad I don’t live in china I love the author’s line: ”The thought that it is man-made depressed and terrified me, as did the realisation that this was the byproduct not just of the consumer electronics in my pocket, but also green technologies like wind turbines and electric cars that we get so smugly excited about in the West. Unsure of quite how to react, I take photos and shoot video on my cerium polished iPhone.”

Haha I don’t even know how to think about it. Maybe the best way is to imagine you get called in to sub for the local little league game and the 9 year old is throwing these tasty little meatballs down the middle. Sure he’s missing with a lot of the pitches, but are you telling me you wouldn’t crush one of those juicy meatballs outa the park? you also have to imagine that all the parents aren’t pissed at a grown man competing against their children...but maybe that’s what it’s like being Eloy right now.
-
Not arguing either side of this, but couldn’t this be summarized as “Give people stuff = people have more stuff”? I don’t get the discovery. If I give you 20 bucks you now have 20 more bucks. I don’t think anybody is arguing that programs keep people alive. I think the fight is about the line of making more money. Cross it and you end up with less. So why try to cross it. I wonder what 50-100 years from now looks like.

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again
Jerksticks replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Reds big red machine. I love it! -
On point here. So in 362 plate appearances with the White Sox Eloy has hit .351 and got on base at a .406 clip. Granted this include winter league but even if you take that out it’s still elite. He hasn’t hit below .345 yet! Ridiculous

Just happened to turn on WS game and Rutherford launched a line drive missile homer. Took like 2 seconds to get out! then Adolfo laced a double down the opposite field line. The sox are going to be incredible. We could probably trade for Trout and still have bullets left

And most of the contractors that are going to support this bill are going to find better full time jobs eventually anyway, negating the need to supplement their income. I guess I think juicy mouth is trying to pick a fight that doesn’t need picking.
-
This is so stupid to me. The whole point of these gig jobs is to supplement income or provide income to a person while they figure out what they really want to do in life. Uber is not a career, Instacart is not meant to be a career. It’s “Here come make a couple extra bucks, working whatever hours you like while you figure it out.” Benefits? GMAFB. The whole point of these companies is that they use people who don’t want to commit full time. Just supplement. Bernie is out of his mind on this one. Sorry taxi companies, somebody outsmarted you. Figure it out.
-
Nice perspective on those two. The board needs to see this. I had no clue!
-
Fuck it, keep them together. Promote them together. Same debut. Other guy always pinch hits against tough relievers.
-
They seem to play really hard for Ricky though. And he’s incredibly insightful with the media. I think he’s a wonderful manager. I personally hope Hahn stays the course with Ricky
-
Heading into the season I didn’t think we had a prayer at the #1 pick in next year’s draft. That would sure be tasty. Basically allows for one more bust of the top guys.
-
This is what needs to be talked about. You can be damn sure the brains of Washington are all over this scenario. I can’t imagine sanctions are driving this. I’m wondering if there is some back room agreement among some Asian nations driving this, including maybe Russia. The end goal possibly being the demilitarization of the area by the Americans? I dunno. This isn’t the grinch growing a bigger heart, and there isn’t some extreme pressure on Kim forcing this. I’d love to hear speculations, crazy ones welcome.
-
Our entire system is going to need a promotion. It’s ridiculous. Maybe the answer is promoting most of Charlotte to the garbage can. By far the least interesting team. K. Smith returning actually makes checking the box score more than every 5 days worth it.

Sweet Moses. Is there a chart somewhere that shows Babip compared to exit velocity the last few years? It seems obvious that the guys that hit it the hardest find more holes in the defense but I’d love to look at it nonetheless!
