  1. Yea for sure. Anybody got an updated report on his stuff? Velocity, movement, top pitches etc? All cunning and guile?
  2. Don’t see the point of that. Every single day he wakes up and he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to find the plate. That’s most days. Once every 15-20 days he finds it. You think going reliever and throwing more often maybe fixes that? Certainly possible, but when do the Sox make the change? Seems like an arbitrary point in time
  3. The coolest part is how easy it looks like he throws and how easy he spots any pitch. “Oh no big deal...where should I spot my 95 mph sliding sinking fastball...up in the zone?...let it tail to the outside edge?...yea that’ll do.”
  4. He hasn’t been doing too well lately but man he sure has been the victim of some shoddy umpiring during that stretch. I don’t see what the big deal is. A decent hot streak puts him well over 2 fWAR at the break. Would that be so bad?
  5. Well then maybe we should just sign 9 .300/30/100 players on short one year deals and use our prospects to push them out as they develop. Once Gavin Sheets develops into his natural .330/50/150 in two years, he will be able to replace Abreu’s middling .300/30/100. Same for all positions. Once Robert starts popping off .350/45/125s in a year or two, we can easily trade the .300/30/100 STOPGAP center fielder we signed for a below market one year deal. Maybe get a top 150 prospect if we’re lucky, but probably not because those guys are everywhere. Almost every player is flawed somehow man.
  6. I’m of the opinion that this is not a big deal at all. Clearly people are going to be passionate about their 2018 vote. Well they have tons of time to make sure they are set up correctly. This will impact zero people passionate about voting this fall. AKA the blue wave. I think you should have to bring your ID, recent mail, and SSN on the holiday election day and then you can vote. Isn’t it that simple. Prove you are a citizen, prove where you live, and use the SSN and photo ID to ensure no fraud. One vote in one county.
  7. I bet Reylo can hit 100. 97 is not his max by any means.
  8. Fuckkk. I hope he’s awesome but he could end up flaming out as one of the worst picks ever taken in any draft in any sport in the history of earth competitions
  9. Hoping for a Kleenex outa nowhere
  10. New Shields is a beast. Team has to be fired up after that. 5/150 extension?
  11. I know how it works, I’m just saying getting impact every day vs every 5 days is something worth considering heavily if you are in the enviable position of having your choice between the best hitter and the best pitcher.
  12. Yea it makes sense for sure. I guess I’m just rooting for a curveball draft day where Mize falls to us.
  13. I don’t understand why Mize is almost consensus 1. I guess taking a pitcher #1 seems like you’re giving away the chance of 4WAR every day for 4WAR every 5th day. If I had the first pick every year I think i’d always take the best position player. 2nd pick is a whole different story. Just not sold on Detroit going pitcher with the state of their rebuild.
  14. Yea it’s really odd. TA is a pretty electric SS. He can make all the plays. This is a good thing.
  15. Platoon him for sure
  16. A year ago, one could argue 8/9 should have been in AAA!
  17. Yes they are all pieces of shit playing “Gotcha!”.
  18. I’ve always been the same way but check this out: if we stack up the losses now we can root for more victories when Kopech n Eloy come up later!
  19. I’m wondering what it takes for him to pass Yrizarri. Can’t promote yrizarri to Bham right? Laz is demolishing low A.
  20. It’s hard to imagine anybody being worse than Engel but Tilson might just be that guy.
  21. Anybody else kinda feel like we don’t need to acquire any more moderate prospects? We already don’t have room for all our guys to play down there in the outfield and we got another top class about to come in, and likely ANOTHER top class after that. Abreu mashes for us and until Gavin Sheets becomes interesting I think we need The Brew.
  22. Can we all just let the mega superstar outfielder be a mega superstar outfielder for us for the next 6+ years? He’s not Kyle Schwarber out there.
  23. I do like the idea of one big entrance, metal detector and a SEAL team. Nobody is getting through that with a pistol.
  24. He’s our boy. He stays.
