Will Cespedes get a qualifying offer which would ultimately cost the Sox the #12 draft pick?

Is the 12th pick protected? Meaning could Hahn sign a free agent who was tendered a qualifying offer without losing the pick.

In the 2016 edition of its prospect handbook, Baseball America lists Woods as Miami's 15th best prospect. Further, it also lists Woods as the 2016 Miami Marlins Breakout Prospect: "With his top-of-the-scale raw power, Woods slugged 18 homers at Low Calls A Greensboro--but can he conquer the Florida State League? Later in the write up it says that Greensboro is an an extreme home run park. Intrigued by this player.

This really aggravates me about Putnam. He has been hurt for over a month and should have been on the DL. He was unable to pitch so many times in May/June and because Hahn did not put him on the DL it caused issues with the Sox bullpen depth.

I was at the College World Series this weekend and watched Collins and our draft picks from Coastal Carolina. Great experience if you ever have the chance. I was unable to log in to Soxtalk from my mobile phone or I would have provided some updates. Excited for Collins!

Diehard Sox fan here living in Springfield. This WGN situation just kills me for the Sox and Blackhawks. The crazy thing is that I am also blocked out as local in Springfield due to the proximity to Chicago (200 miles) and not St. Louis (95 miles) for both the MLB and NHL expanded TV packages. It just sucks, and as Murphy's law would have it, almost every time I am free to watch a game, I get shut out. Here is to a great season though!

Friends, I have held out hope all winter but in my mind with the recent Nationals interest, he is not signing with the White Sox. Let's hope Hahn has a plan so the Sox players are not dwelling at "being left at the alter" by Cespedes.

I keep reading from A's fans that Beane is going to "fleece" Hahn again like with Shark. My belief is that is not the case, I would take the first round draft pick over any of the four players that the Sox gave up. Thoughts?

Rob Mackowiak. Now, I might have to be upset for how we was positioned, but what a disappointment. Navarro would still get my first vote.

If the Sox trade for Upton or Cespedes and give up Anderson, Montas, or Hawkins it clearly shows that KW and not Hahn is running the show. I want the the Sox to win desperately, but player development needs to be the key trait of this organization. If the Sox were in first place by five games, different story.

Still in shock that Hahn was able to obtain Shark for this price. If the Sox had Shark and received this package in return we all would be squealing. Nothing new to this post, just need to say it all again. Great day team!
