  1. I worry about the hit tool and the strikeout propensity with Bart. Pretty much similar concerns as Swaggerty with the White Sox developing him as a hitter. Though the defense acumen sounds glowing. He's an interesting one.
  2. Or Madrigal. I'm really starting to favor him. I'm a proponent of BPA, but I keep coming back to "where does he fit exactly?" How do we convert him to catcher?
  3. I'm kind of with you. I like Swaggerty, but I just don't trust the Sox developing him.
  4. Aw Generic deleted his post.
  5. All you G! I should pay attention to this meeting I'm in anyways.
  6. Longenhagen prospects/draft chat: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/eric-longenhagen-prospects-chat-on-short-rest/ Also: Greg 12:02 Any new draft buzz in the top 10 since your updated list and mock? Eric A Longenhagen 12:02 I think we'd mock Swaggerty #2
  7. Unfortunately both of them are pretty subpar as catchers. I wonder if the Sox are thinking about Bart at all.
  8. This is correct and has been my approach thus far. I've mostly been staying out of gamethreads because of the meltdowns from people who think for some reason we would be contending this year. Gio though. Never expected this.
  9. I can't remember the last good curve he's thrown. It might have been in spring training. Not going to make it very far with absolutely no command and no out-pitch. I certainly expected struggles with the young pitching staff, but Gio has been absolutely bewildering and frustrating.
  10. Perhaps, Giolito just isn't a major league caliber pitcher.
  11. I've been thinking the same on Kelenic. I reckon that would be an under-slot opportunity. Though that's hard to say since his stock is kind of all over the place due to how little he's played.
  12. Eric Longenhagen @longenhagen 1m Saw him walking around in shorts and a tee shirt this week. Was told it's going to be a while before he even gets on a mound. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin Alec Hansen still working his way back at extended. Needs to get back to feeling completely healthy and then build back up for time lost
  13. Welcome back draft folks. Nick Madrigal is back as of yesterday for those that missed it.
  14. Callis/Mayo will have updated draft rankings at the end of the week as well.
  15. Too much to do at work for me to post Kiley draft snippets in case anyone wants to head that up. Some good stuff in there already.
  16. Kiley chat up. Get your draft questions in: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/kiley-mcdaniel-chat-4-18-18/
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:37 AM) Are there really a lot of examples of going underslot with the top 5, and having that pay off big later on, since these pools have come into play? I hope it's rare the Sox draft up here. To take a guy they don't have as their top available player, so maybe they can get an upgrade around pick 40 doesn't do anything for me. Off the top of my head, Correa allowed Houston to pop McCullers with their second pick. Amongst other overslots who haven't made it yet.
  18. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:32 AM) We are going to get a good player in the second round. There are so many good names in the 40s. Hell, we might be able to get Beer or Luken Baker in the third round at this rate. Speaking of Baker, he just broke a bone in his leg and will be out a bit. He sure gets injured a lot.
  19. Also no Beer on this list. Though that's not very surprising.
  20. Kiley McDaniel @kileymcd 16m16 minutes ago Eric and I updated our draft rankings with all kinds of new dope for you people ???????????? mock coming tomorrow
  21. Hankins to 31 is quite the drop.
  22. QUOTE (yesterday333 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 08:37 AM) Is Nander de Sadas not even in their top 55 or did I miss him? He is not.
  23. Joey Bart seems to have some helium. Anyone want a catcher now?
