Sounds like the Cubs will be going hard after him.

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
DirtySox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 09:20 PM) Not so fast, Soxtalk: https://mobile.twitter.com/NYPost_Mets/stat...338958880223233 Do not want. At all. -
So I've been swamped at work today and haven't been up to date with anything baseball related. Any new rumors via Twitter/Soxtalk sources? I need to feed.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 10:28 PM) If we're supposedly rebuilding why not at least rebuild by trying to snag one of the Yankees catching specs in either Sanchez, Murphy or O'Brien. If not drafting Alex Jackson with the 1st wouldn't break my heart if Rodon isn't there.... Not a good chance Jackson stays at C. He's already being profiled as a 3B/Corner OF at showcases.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 07:38 PM) Look at the bright side, if the Sox make no moves, they will be selecting high in the draft in 2015.#rebuilding I'm okay with this.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 10:46 PM) Because his price tag was $1.1M. How do you not throw that to him in hopes he can be healthy again. You know how easy it is to be worth $1.1M? I mean s***, we almost gave that much to Tyler Flowers, and he is horrendous when HEALTHY. Mainly because the recovery time for a second Tommy John surgery is longer than the first, and the success rate of pitchers returning after having the procedure for a second time is quite slim.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 10:44 PM) Lol...this is only about what's best for the team. You can't have players openly questioning the manager's decision-making in front of other teammates. It can create rifts in the clubhouse and effect the manager's ability to effectively lead his team. Yep. Also, I believe Bucket implied that many of his teammates had issues with him. It was around the time Reed plunked him last year. Part of me would like him just so he could be traded at some point next season and part of me doesn't want that douchebag anywhere near the clubhouse.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 10:30 PM) I f***ING CALLED THIS. it's in a thread somewhere and I was told I was a crazy Why would it be crazy? He's had Tommy John TWICE.

As much as I loathe AJ, I wouldn't mind bringing him back just for the purpose of flipping him at the deadline when out of contention. Use him as an inevitable trade chip.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) I don't know who this guy on Twitter is and I also don't know what thread to put it in, so here: Brian Madsen @brianm731 3m Flowers re-signs. Paulie just made up his mind. He gone. #whitesox It's a joke. He's implying Konerko wouldn't even consider returning to a team that had brought back a player of Tyler Flowers caliber.

Robbie Ray is alright, but man the Nats didn't have to give up much. Kind of a salary dump?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) I would love to rebuild the lineup on the fly and make a massive trade with San Diego. They have two guys I would love to have in Yonder Alonso and Yasmani Grandal along with Headley who I would like if we immediately signed following the trade. Obviously highly unlikely but it's well known they prefer Stassi (top catching prospect in baseball) over Grandal and Headley is probably going to moved. They also have next to to no power and Alonso isn't cutting in terms of power. Due to the dead season, trade Dunn, Semien, Reed and 2/3 prospects (Thompson, Sanchez, Beck, Bassit, Snodgress, etc.) for Headley, Grandal and Alonso. L CF De Aza R 2B Beckham S 3B Headley R 1B/DH Abreu R RF Garcia L DH/1B Alonso R LF Viciedo S C Grandal R SS Ramirez 3 established vets in Headley, Alexei and De Aza. 5 guys who are young with great potential and hope 3 pan out in Abreu, Garcia, Alonso, Grandal and Viciedo. 1 guy who sucks in Beckham. S SS Cabrera R 2B Semien R LF Quentin L 1B Dunn R 3B Gyorko L RF Venable R C Hundley (placeholder for Stassi) L/R CF Armarista/Maybin Stassi is an Astros prospect. I'd assume you mean Austin Hedges?

I like both pitching signings they've made so far, but they still have some work to do with that roster. They could be in nice shape soon with Buxton and Sano on the way in a year or so.

This thread desperately needs a rumor.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) Deck McGuire both surprises and intrigues me. He was added to the 40 man.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:45 PM) All signs point to Rick wanting to compete next year. Bringing in Headley and extending him makes that even more realistic. Er, what signs?
-
QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) Hmm Headley I'm assuming? Or perhaps Grandal? Enjoy your Cards sir. I would LOVE Grandal. The organization was supposedly very interested in him come draft time. They also have Hedges who is probably the heir apparent at some point.

Can we trade for Gary Sanchez please?

With McCann to the Yankees I'd be inquiring what it would take to nab Gary Sanchez.

I wonder if this means Castellanos is going back to 3B.

Can this thread get merged with the other one?

QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:33 PM) It doesn't really matter. As soon as Miggy starts to decline, they're done. Eh, no. There is more to that team than just Miggy.

Miggy back to 1B, loads of money saved. Extending Scherzer?
