  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) I would love to rebuild the lineup on the fly and make a massive trade with San Diego. They have two guys I would love to have in Yonder Alonso and Yasmani Grandal along with Headley who I would like if we immediately signed following the trade. Obviously highly unlikely but it's well known they prefer Stassi (top catching prospect in baseball) over Grandal and Headley is probably going to moved. They also have next to to no power and Alonso isn't cutting in terms of power. Due to the dead season, trade Dunn, Semien, Reed and 2/3 prospects (Thompson, Sanchez, Beck, Bassit, Snodgress, etc.) for Headley, Grandal and Alonso. L CF De Aza R 2B Beckham S 3B Headley R 1B/DH Abreu R RF Garcia L DH/1B Alonso R LF Viciedo S C Grandal R SS Ramirez 3 established vets in Headley, Alexei and De Aza. 5 guys who are young with great potential and hope 3 pan out in Abreu, Garcia, Alonso, Grandal and Viciedo. 1 guy who sucks in Beckham. S SS Cabrera R 2B Semien R LF Quentin L 1B Dunn R 3B Gyorko L RF Venable R C Hundley (placeholder for Stassi) L/R CF Armarista/Maybin Stassi is an Astros prospect. I'd assume you mean Austin Hedges?
  2. I like both pitching signings they've made so far, but they still have some work to do with that roster. They could be in nice shape soon with Buxton and Sano on the way in a year or so.
  3. This thread desperately needs a rumor.
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) Deck McGuire both surprises and intrigues me. He was added to the 40 man.
  5. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:45 PM) All signs point to Rick wanting to compete next year. Bringing in Headley and extending him makes that even more realistic. Er, what signs?
  6. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) Hmm Headley I'm assuming? Or perhaps Grandal? Enjoy your Cards sir. I would LOVE Grandal. The organization was supposedly very interested in him come draft time. They also have Hedges who is probably the heir apparent at some point.
  7. Can we trade for Gary Sanchez please?

  9. With McCann to the Yankees I'd be inquiring what it would take to nab Gary Sanchez.

  11. I wonder if this means Castellanos is going back to 3B.
  12. Can this thread get merged with the other one?
  13. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:33 PM) It doesn't really matter. As soon as Miggy starts to decline, they're done. Eh, no. There is more to that team than just Miggy.
  14. Miggy back to 1B, loads of money saved. Extending Scherzer?
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 08:03 AM) If by "legitimate" you mean he is very knowledgeable, I agree. He's also got writing talent at a level rare in the Sox media sphere. What I was getting at is, he's got a piss-poor attitude, and it makes reading his pieces unnecessarily painful. Also, I'd disagree he's "at the top", as I think the combined knowledge of FS's writers is much stronger. But I'm obviously and admitedly biased on that part, haha. His snark and outlook is similar to mine which is part of the appeal. I also like Keith Law which might explain things. Jason Parks is great too.
  16. Rumors! I must have them.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) Heh. If anyone wants the bitter, Larry version of an AFL review, you can read his article here. That is one angry dude. I think he fashions himself as a sort of Keith Law of the White Sox system. But without the sense of humor. larry is legitimate. Out of all the White Sox forums/sites/blogs, I'd put him at the top as far as minor league/prospect assessments.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) Yeah, but if they were high on Myles Jaye BEFORE last year, why are they not high on him this year? Also, surprised they have Semien so low. I figured him to be in everyone's top 3. Kevin Goldstein was high on Myles Jaye. He now works for the Astros. This is a Jason Parks list.
  19. Soon to be a free agent. Boras client.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 07:52 PM) Dan Hayes: "What that means is anyone not named Jose Abreu, Avisail Garcia, Sale and Jose Quintana can be acquired in a trade, those executives confirmed." Jose Quintana will be here next year. I don't buy that Quintana isn't available.
  21. Astros are trying to sell high if they can.
  22. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 11:24 AM) Turner's scouting report sounds a lot like Tim Andersons, so not sure I would think about taking him at 3. Gatewood fits in the mold of Hawkins and Zapata, being athletic with big power, but we are pretty loaded with those type of guys (all power, no contact). Jackson could be intriguing if he could play third. I think the pick is one of those three, but a lot of time to go. I would like to see Jeren Kendall in the second round. Anyone that makes contact first is appealing to me. Turner is a much better prospect than Tim Anderson with little doubt he will be an asset at SS. I doubt Anderson is graded at having 80 speed as well. I like Jackson plenty and if there's a shot of him continuing to catch, his value is even greater. Gatewood could be a monster but with the swing and miss in his game I'm not sure I trust the Sox with his development. As far as drafting they need to take the BPA even if it's a pitcher.
  23. Apparently Turner's speed is back. http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/nc-...-speed-is-back/
  24. Kiley McDaniel's updated prep rankings: http://sbb.scout.com/2/1343076.html Gatewood with a big drop. I also spy a local guy making it on the list from my neck of the woods. , a catcher from Libertyville. TCU commit.
