6/19 Game Thread
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) No reason Sox can't get the worst record in the AL and possibly the 2nd pick in the draft. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Post-draft top 5 prospects
QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 07:41 PM) I know the Sox system is bad, but it's hard for me to get behind a RH SP that sits in the high 80's as their #1 prospect. I've yet to hear this from anywhere. http://www.minorleagueball.com/2013/4/23/4...ameday-april-23

You're Hahn, who are you looking to trade first?
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Peavy and Rios to the Rangers on July 25. One Rangers prospect that I'd be interested in is Rougned Odor. Very much blocked for the forseeable future. Doing rather well for a 19 year old in High-A. Luke Jackson is an interesting pitcher. Rangers also have some toolsy players in Brinson/Williams. Olt is also worth mentioning.

6/17 Games
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) .264 now! I'm still quite bullish on Trayce. He has to be the system's number 2 prospect behind Johnson.

6/17 Games
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 01:04 PM) 5 shutout innings for Johnson. Now in a rain delay. Bah. He wasn't throwing many pitches either. Was hoping to see him go deep today.

Game Thread: White Sox vs. those pesky Astros
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) That's a matter of opinion. Fact: The White Sox are awful. I'm hoping that the Sox ineptitude will cause Hawk's disappearance one way or another.

Game Thread: White Sox vs. those pesky Astros
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Who would have thought that Jason Castro would wind up being better than Beckham, Smoak and B. Wallace? Ah, I remember how stacked everyone considered that draft class. Been quite disappointing thus far.

2013 Minor League Transactions
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) He's 20 years old in AAA. Offensively he hasn't been horrible and from reading accounts his defense has been very good. Let him play in Charlotte this year and next and see if he can play in the majors at the old age of 22 in 2015. Yep. Sanchez has a slick glove indeed. He's also the youngest player in the International League. Would be quite silly to write him off already.

Game Thread: White Sox vs. those pesky Astros
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) Marlins will end up with worse record than Astros Fernandez and Rodon will be one hell of a tandem in the not too distant future.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:38 PM) Which is all it would take to get Carlos Rodon He's currently dominating on ESPN2. Appel and Rodon will be one hell of a tandem in the not too distant future.

We just lost to the Astros
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) Astros and Cubs are playing better baseball than the Sox. Mets are going to be calling up Wheeler soon, but their offense is abysmal. When it's all said and done, I fully expect Marlins to get 1st pick and Astros 2nd. One "advantage" the Sox have to racking up the losses is the tough schedule they have the rest of the way. Yep. A top 5 pick would be great. There's not a chance they finish worse than Houston or Miami though. I still think when all is said and done a pick in the 7 to 10 range is where the Sox end up.

Chicago White Sox @ Houston Astros
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) For those that aren't watching, Danks just got picked off at 2nd to end the game. If this game doesn't get changes to be made, nothing will. Jordan Danks is a truly awful baseball player. Quite honestly, what changes are there to be made? Maybe it's just be, but I fully expect this team to remain mostly the same until pieces are inevitably dealt.

SOX DRAFT PICKS 2013
While still missing some bonus amounts, BA's Draft Database for the White Sox has some updated signings on it for whoever is maintaining the initial post. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draftdb/201...m.php?team=1026

6/14 Games
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 09:48 PM) Any chance they release Jared Mitchell soon? If he wasn't Buddy Bell's boy, he'd be close to gone at this point. There were scouts calling him a release candidate around spring training time.

We just lost to the Astros
Is that surprising? This isn't a good team. They will continue to flounder and some pieces will be dealt around the deadline. Hope for a decent draft pick in what is looking like a solid draft class next year. Then pray that the minors can churn out a few pieces in the coming years that can contribute around the time the Tigers window is closing.

6/13 Games
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 09:30 PM) Reality check for those who jumped on the Hawkins bandwagon too soon. 0-5 with 5 K's is a pretty tough feat, it only further shows he has some serious holes in his swing. Sooner or later, we might have to break up his swing/approach and have him relearn the basics again, i.e. a demotion, while he's still new to the game. From the assessments I've recently read, it's less about a flawed swing and largely due to very poor pitch recognition. Edit: Actually the swing can have its issues apparently: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article....articleid=20890
