  1. QUOTE (Baron @ May 5, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) It prob has to do with the fact that losing and rebuilding are no fun. I'm okay with it. I'd enjoy a clear cut direction in building for a better and more sustainable future versus being stuck in .500ish purgatory for many years. Though I'm someone who will watch the Sox good or bad.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 04:32 PM) We really don't have a competitive team this year with Axelrod being placed into the rotation. The sooner you come to realize that, the easier it is to accept. Hope for Beckham and Viciedo to prove they can actually start in the majors...and that's about the only reason to watch anymore. Yep. It seems many people still have high expectations for this team for some reason. The saving grace of Sale to the bullpen is the fact that it will likely push Kenny (or his replacement) to fully commit to a rebuild instead of this stuck in between nonsense.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) How's he been defensively this year? He's been pretty damn good against the Sox. He's been just fine in all aspects other than his range. That's the only knock on him really.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ May 4, 2012 -> 05:17 PM) OK, Keith Law wannabe. I'm as disappointed as everyone. Rather angry at the clown shoes decision as well. Bitter snark is perfectly justified.
  5. That's okay. He can be replaced by one of the plethora of young high upside arms the Sox have in the minors.
  6. I really like Jason Kipnis. Shame we didn't draft him.
  7. Final line for Jaye. 5.0 IP 4 H 1 ER 0 BB 7 SO Kevin Goldstein ‏ @Kevin_Goldstein Big, athletic, raw arm worth keeping an eye on. RT @ProfessorFog: @Kevin_Goldstein Any thoughts on Myles Jaye? Nice 1st start.
  8. Jaye with 5 SO through 2.0 IP thus far.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Santiago is likely to be a rotation member in the future. Why do you keep saying this?
  10. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 07:40 AM) It already is. Using K/AB isn't optimal considering it penalizes taking walks (or getting hit I guess). Mitchell has struck out 20 times in 84 plate appearances, or a 24% rate. Yep. I've always used PA for K%. I'd like it to drop a bit more than 24% though. It also needs to be sustained obviously. I'm certainly encouraged so far.
  11. I think my draft thread died due to inactivity. Finally graduating and becoming a full-time salaried member of the workforce leaves much less time for pointless baseball draft research and forum posting. Anyhow, Sickels and Garrioch have their second mock draft up here. Obviously it will be far from accurate, as we are six weeks or so away from the draft, and the CBA changes will make it even harder to predict. Still fun to read though. Like I've posted previously, I'm a fan of Strahan and would be fond of this pick. Though it doesn't seem realistic with the organization's aversion to prep players, especially in the 1st round. There is the possibility that CBA changes have altered the White Sox approach to the draft though. There is much more incentive for high school players to go to college if picked in later rounds, so the highly touted prep players should largely be picked up early. The Sox might also simply pick the BPA now that spending has been reigned in a bit. It's likely much more complicated than that though with how the organization decides to allocate their assigned amount, or even if they spend it all. I'm personally on the Marcus Stroman bandgwagon and would love if he fell to 13. I'd wager he's snatched up in the top ten though.
  12. Starting to get a little bit excited about Mitchell. If that strikeout percentage can hover close to 20% I'd be very happy.
  13. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) I was the first one to here to say they would contend. I enjoy watching this team as well, but contention is a long shot.

  17. This "Tanks" thing from Hawk is just awful. Please retire already.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Cabrera playing solid D at third makes me hate him even more than I already do haha He won't be as bad as people think at 3rd. It's his range that is brutal. Everything else should be acceptable.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) WGN graphic says AJ is batting .273 and has .261 OBP does not compute Sacrifice fly.
