  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) It cracks me up that he doesn't like talk whatsoever, just stands there shaking his hips the entire time. His stare and the State Farm Guy's stare get me everytime. And the extended one where the Green Bay fan follows Rodgers around.
  2. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) Raji one is better I like to imagine it's how Matthews really acts.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) First 2 packages won't happen. They are both drastic overpays. That too. I'd flip s*** for either package.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Hechevarria isn't anything special. Most don't think he will hit. But if we got him and other stuff and he hit well, then we can do Marty's dream of trading Alexei.
  5. Can we all just go back to mocking Tebow?
  6. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) If Floyd is traded, then these are the type of packages I'd like to see from the following teams: Toronto Blue Jays: Trade Floyd for a package of Drew Hutchison, Jake Marisnick, and Adeiny Hechevarria. (Swap Hechevarria for Deck McGuire if possible) Boston Red Sox: Trade Floyd for a package of Bryce Brentz, Will Middlebrooks, and Ryan Lavarnway. (Brentz is the guy I'd really like to acquire from the Red Sox, along with Lavarnway as a close 2nd. Lavarnway can replace Flowers in the depth chart) Baltimore: Not really interested in any players from the Baltimore system. :-\ Pittsburgh Pirates: Trade Floyd, Morel, and a low level prospct for Pedro Alvarez and Kyle McPherson. (I doubt the Pirates would be a good trade partner for the Sox because of how Floyd's contract being a little too pricey for them, but I'd LOVE to see Pedro Alvarez on the Sox. If we got Lavarnway or Hechevarria for Floyd I'd flip s***.
  7. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) This was a great line, after all the rips against SF this year, I have zero regrets about ripping on the Bears Have they found a GM yet? Tebowf***ingchrist HeGone. What the hell? This is exactly what DrunkBomber was talking about
  8. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) The 49ers are actually my second favorite team and have been since the early 90s and I was never in this thread badmouthing them or not giving them a shot to win, yet I have to come in here and read "98% of Bears fans this" or "Every Bears fan I know that" from the two 49ers fans. I realize this isnt a Bears forum but at the same time the White Sox play in Chicago, so of course the majority of the White Sox fan base will also be Bears fans. That said, the Bears fans on this board are actually some of the more knowledgeable and realistic fans you will come across on the internet. As the end of the season came and the playoffs began I found myself basically wanting the 49ers to get knocked out of the playoffs just because of how annoying this thread has been and because I was worried it would become unreadable if the niners won. To me its very similar to the Tim Tebow coverage on ESPN, if guys like Skip Bayless werent so far to one extreme that it basically forces other people to take on the other extreme and despise Tebow he probably would have been a lot of fun to root for. For example, Id be willing to bet if there were 0 niners fans on this board that well over half the people on here would vocally be rooting for the 49ers, me included. I hate the Saints personally. Also, it wasnt "hating" to think the niners were gonna lose. They were underdogs at home in Vegas and one of the biggest question marks about the niners is how would their offense handle getting into a shootout with one of the 3 big time offenses this season, and they certainly answered the question and Im sure in the process they impressed a lot of doubters. Also, a lot of the jabs you guys have taken at the Bears were just for the sake of trolling so a lot of the heat you took was reactionary. I know every fan base is littered with idiots and Im sure you do indeed have to listen to dumb Bears fans somewhere in your life but from what Ive seen it really isnt that bad in here. +A f***ton
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) Everything positive about him was about his defense since AA. He's been expected to be a plus defender. I never heard anything other than his D.
  10. Make the Jays and Red Sox bid against each other, especially after Pineda just made the Yankees rotation good.
  11. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) My wrath goes to Wade, the second biggest traitor besides Zeke... I get that they're both from Chicago, but Thomas didn't openly flirt with the Bulls and then undermine them by calling them unloyal. Also, both stayed with teams that drafted them, so neither are traitors...just Wade is a douche who slammed our org.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) This is all within like a 5-year period. This s*** is crazy now. Also, this will be random. But I've seen enough: Steve Nash is the second greatest PG (behind Magic) to ever live. Dude is like 40 and still leading the league in assists. He's arguably the greatest shooter of all-time and has led one of the most efficient offensive attacks the league has ever seen yearly since '05. I've got Nash in the "#2 depending on what you're looking at" tier with Thomas, Stockton, Robertson, and Kidd.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) He's no LeBron, obviously. But he's a pretty sweet consolation prize. I've never, ever seen this many electrifying PGs in the league all at the same time. Rose, Wall (who dropped 38 last night), Rondo, Deron, Irving, Paul, Westbrook, Conley, Lawson, Rubio and probably a couple others I'm forgetting. All I remember was when Rose was drafted, everyone said "finding a good PG is impossible." Well s***. And Dwight's a b****. More than LeBron.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 01:36 AM) What about trading Gavin Floyd and signing Roy Oswalt on a one-year deal for $8 million? That would be basically revenue neutral...excise $9.5 million more for the 2013 budget and bring in another name pitcher to go with Peavy who could actually help boost or bolster attendance a bit. He snaps back and they've got a VERY valuable trade chip at midseason who can be parlayed into additional prospects, with Castro/Stewart/Molina/Axelrod/Santiago joining the big league rotation at the time of the trade. I'm in favor of signing guys who need a bounce-back year to one year deals because as Caulfield said, they bolster attendance and we can trade them while I prospects develop. And I trust us much more getting other organizations spects (which we seem to do good in identifying problems with them, especially pitchers) then I trust the drafting scouts.
  15. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Are the CougarLife banner ads really bringing in a lot of business from the Soxtalk population?? Blame caulfield.

    QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 09:56 AM) Soxtalk was wrong about Adrian Gonzalez and got slapped down for it by Cowley. So what? The grudge that is being held for it on here is really entertaining to watch, but doesn't reflect well on those involved. He personally attacked Jason then showed a complete lack of class when he e-mailed him saying it was uncalled for. The grudge is because Cowley is the lowest class of journalist out there and broke 1001 and ethics codes to fluff his own fragile ego, then cemented his position as a complete jackass by trying to make himself seem witty with often used metaphors and by proclaiming he wrote an e-mail all by himself. Woop-de-f***ing-do. The one piece he ever wrote all by himself and did need an editor for was a steaming pile of s***.
  18. So, watching E:60. It had Ray Rice's childhood, where his father was mistakenly killed in a drive by when he was one. His father-figure cousin was killed by a drunk driver when he was 11. His mom taught special education to afford to raise 4 kids. He learned football on a courtyard pavement. It has Patrick Willis, who "would kill for Michael Oher's upbrining." His mother abandoned him, two brothers, and a sister to an abusive, drug using father. He stood up to him and got told he would be killed. Didn't have electricity, running water, worked in a cotton field, his brother drowned, he played through terrible injuries. Finally his basketball coach took him and his three siblings in as a foster home. Ends with Arian Foster, who got told he couldn't succeed throughout grade, middle, and high school. Went undrafted. Played on a practice squad for a year. Finally made it. Is one of the most intelligent and well-spoken players in the NFL in my opinion. Then that motherf***er comes on the TV in an FRS commercial. "They said I couldn't be a high school quarterback." He was a home-schooled boy who got to play for a team instead of kids that went to class each day. He was recruited in the area and moved just to be a QB, because that's what he wanted. Not his team, which ran. "They said I couldn't get a D1 scholarship. You're not good enough, you're not strong enough, you're not skilled enough." He was the 3rd QB prospect in the country. "They said I couldn't win a Heisman." No sophomore had ever won it, it wasn't an indictment of him. When he was the favorite, he failed. "They said I couldn't win a National Championship." He was on a favorite contender the year he had to lead the team. "They said I wouldn't be a first round draft pick." Ok, I'll give him that. But the guy who fell in love with him got fired. "They said I couldn't play in the league." He's not a good player. "Appreciate that." I literally felt sick to my stomach. Here's a guy who has had everything handed to him in his football career; was recruited in High School, a top QB recruit, national favorite for Heisman and champion, got overdrafted, etc. when he comes off as a meathead in his interviews. It makes me so mad. Willis had a horrendous life, Rice's two father figures were killed, Foster actually was told he couldn't. And Tim f***ing Tebow. I hope the 49ers play the Broncos next year so Willis can demolish him.

  21. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 10:53 PM) 3rd and 10 for the patriots at their own 42 (roughly 3 min left). belichick calls timeout (an interesting decision given they were up 35) starters inexplicably still in. Brady in shotgun....and he punts the ball. Von miller took exception and hit/pushed an O lineman on the side/back after the whistle....from then a couple brouhahas break out and broncos correctly get flagged for unnecessary roughness I find this both insulting and hilarious.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 11:09 PM) Now I saw an ad for Russian Love Match. (I couldn't let this thread die) I've seen 7 straight for Cougarlife.com
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 10:19 PM) @JeffGurt Bulls are the first team to hold opponents under 70 points in three straight home games since the invention of the shot clock. Of the five teams they've played at home (Grizzlies, Hawks, Pistons, Wizards, and Raptors) only one has made it over 70 points and it was the Hawks with 74.
