  1. The White Sox will be doomed going into October. They don't have a true closer - just a fat, overweight minor league reject after the international star fizzled out. Our homegrown star left. The truly big, big power bat we need is injured and we don't have a real DH. The rotation is smoke and mirrors, because we're vulnerable and only have 4 starters - a soft tossing lefty, a Yankees' reject riding a hot streak, a sweaty trade acquisition, and a bum from the Cubs. You know how they're bums? They can't hold a 15 game lead against the Indians. These are facts don't @ me
  2. If Olympic Zach is an actual thing - which may be possible since he has Vuc and DeRozan, plus Ball orchestrating all a bunch of athletes - I can live with our defense.
  3. Yeah the meme doesn't work as well considering their starting lineup pre-Vuc was younger than some colleges, but they have to be younger than when Gar made those comments and signed...Wade and Rondo.
  4. The Bull have gotten younger and more athletic. Gar in New Orleans:

    9/3 Games

For a recent reference we all know, it makes me think of how Gavin Sheets always had a good walk/strikeout rate but it took FOREVER for him to tap into his game power. I can wait for a shortstop with a good eye to fill out and get his power stroke.
  6. Why would you wish such pain on Jarred Kelenic?
  7. I'd rely on more than a beer can to say that they'd replace what is one of the best selling hats in baseball with what would rapidly become one of the worst. For context: I see more Sox hats in Brooklyn than I do Yankees hats. They're not killing the golden goose.
  8. That's kind of how it was for me. I caught it while in Chicago for my cousin's wedding. No one at the wedding tested positive - including my fiance, who had been in close proximity to me the entire time unless I was in the bathroom.
  9. Damn Strange, hope she gets better soon. I know every case is unique, but when I had the breakthrough - as stupid as it seems - I tried to smell strong objects, like candles and deodorant to test if my smell was coming back. At first I couldn't smell them, then faintly, then gradually more and more until they fully returned. Tracking my sense of smell was fairly consistent with my overall symptoms.
  10. While it does have the same root as propaganda, that was not my intent.
  11. No, that is not the truth. Stop propagating falsehoods. https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/issue-brief/latest-data-on-covid-19-vaccinations-race-ethnicity/
  12. That's all while we're taking society-wide preventative measures against COVID (adults getting vaccinated, masks, remote learning, work from home, social distancing, less travel). Like others have said, delta is here. Months ago you said you essentially said that the vaccinated people can stop bothering unvaccinated people, who are living at their own risk. Well, I got COVID despite being vaccinated - because the unvaccinated people are letting delta spread like wildfire. We're going backwards because of delta due to unvaccinated people. You may not want to hear about it so much, but maybe if people didn't handwave this as the flu (which, note, less than half of adults take the vaccine for the flu) and took the damn vaccine, we'd be looking towards a future where we don't have to be worrying about kids getting the delta variant.
  13. Nine seasons of Leury is pretty good value for Alex Rios.
  14. I'm so disappointed that Tim won't be playing, because hearing Amin start a home run call only to be interrupted by Stacey hysterically yelling "GIVE ME THE MARINARA" would be the best thing since Bill Walton's "swimming through the universe" call of Mike Trout.
  15. People out here ready to go to jail just so they can have fake vaccination cards.
  16. Here ya go: The Knights live on!
  17. To continue the fun read: https://theathletic.com/2797125/2021/09/01/mlb-mock-expansion-2021-nashville-sounds-montreal-expos-draft-results/ Sale (unprotected due to age and contract) is the first pick, going to Nashville. Engel (Montreal) and Sheets (Nashville) are taken. Soxtalk has a 50 page thread bemoaning why we protected Moncada, Grandal, Vaughn, Bummer, and Kimbrel over Sheets. McCann joins Engel in Montreal.
  18. Made this for a minor league game, now it must go here.
  19. The fact that I expected it to be caught speaks volumes about him
