  1. Talk about fixing the OF depth via trade/whatever else here: This thread is for discussing Luis' injury.
  2. brb making FutureSox board restricted access
  3. Yeah, I'd be leery of the Cubs asking price, but then again, they gave up Darvish for absolute pennys on the dollar.
  4. Or maybe Robert is only a few weeks? If that's the case, a lot of problems could be solved by La Russa yanking his head out of his ass and stop his "earn playing time" bullshit with Vaughn and Madrigal and putting Engel and Mendick on the bench instead of Lamb and Leury. If it's worse than a few weeks, well, they should still do the above things, but they can trade for an OF, but they should probably trade a minor league pitcher (such as Thompson) before jettisoning core pieces like Eloy, Vaughn, and now possibly Mercedes. I mean, honestly, you'd want to try and sell astronomically high on Mercedes before trading Eloy. It'd be dumb to trade Yermin right now, but it'd be dumber to trade Eloy.
  5. Eloy is a silver-slugging, probable All-Star and likely MVP candidate in Colorado's park. He's three years younger and signed two years longer than Tapia. Unless the Rockies want to include Zac Veen, the Sox shouldn't even bother starting a conversation.
  6. Somehow I forgot Cespedes. Maybe Cespedes just goes absolutely fucking nuts and we get another rookie who has to earn at-bats.
  7. Ugh, Sox need to update their transaction page sooner.
  8. Maybe Gonzalez, Rutherford, or Adolfo can show us something really, really quickly.
  9. You're not moving one of the best defensive third basemen in the American League for a guy hitting .143 because the guy hitting hitting .143 is left-handed.
  10. He writes for Forbes now, for what it's worth. How anyone employs him when there are so many young, talented journalists out there is beyond me.
  11. So I just saw the story about how Fields is epileptic and his diagnosis was revealed during the pre-draft interviews. As an person with epilepsy, it's kind of cool having a potential face of the franchise soar to incredible heights despite that. There is also, of course, the part of me that wonders if that is why he slipped. It wouldn't shock me if that was a classic case of GM overthink.
  12. Avi did throw that hard from the OF and he didn't come close to winning a damn gold glove.
  13. Hol up Fans need to stop putting the horse before the cart, but the man who has never played the outfield will be a gold glove center fielder.
  14. Bulls are basically in the same spot as last year. 7th spot in the lottery, hoping to jump into the top 4.
  15. So I guess Grandad gets success for the Sox rotation being having the best ERA in the AL?
  16. Who needs scouting reports when you have guts?
  17. Nah, it does wonders for his confidence to pinch hit a guy with a lower batting average and OPS than him.
  18. The fact that Buehrle had a better career (according to fWAR, he edges him out) than Johan Santana is fascinating to me. It's a perfect peak vs. longevity argument. Johan in his primed mowed people down, then fell apart. Buehrle was the same dude every year of his career, fell two innings shy of hitting 200 IP in 2015 and was like "guess I'll hang it up."

I have no clue, but he definitely removed it from Gio, Lopez, and Cease's arsenals when it was arguably the best weapon all three of them had. Gio remade himself. Cease is a work-in-progress and might get it back. Lopez joined Eloy in the afterlife.
