  1. Paulie's home run has a statue. That's the answer.
  2. I need them to win at this point only because the documentary would be so fucking good (RIP Michael Clarke Duncan). Too many narrative threads.
  3. They should do more special games, but not all at the Field of Dreams site. Like old teams with old uniforms would be cool, but ... Padres-Rays would be stupid, even if they're two very exciting teams. But if they found cool sites that made sense, they should go for it with these alternate site games for teams. I know the Barons play in the Rickwood Classic, but it'd be a lot more exciting if the Sox wore Black Barons jerseys and the Royals were the Monarchs. Finding somewhere in Brooklyn would be a logistical nightmare - really only Cyclones Park (the Mets minor league team) or a temporary stadium in Prospect Park (which would cause an uproar) make sense - but the Dodgers/Giants having a return to New York might capture some of the same magic. I see Brooklyn Dodgers gear around here plenty. Do more cool-ass games in non-MLB stadiums with high production value. Sell advertising to placate the owners. The game gets to go places it doesn't normally. Everyone wins.
  4. This win chart. Tim fucking Anderson.
  5. I told my dad the only blunder in producing this was no Hawk. They should have brought back Nancy Faust to do all music.
  6. Damn near all of us knew Kopech and Kimbrel were getting screwed, even with the strike zone.

    What a beaut:
  8. Man, no part of the game got me sentimental or gave me chills like it did a lot of people. It was just really cool. But DJ saying "light it up" for a TA walk off, man, that hits me right in the heart.
  9. Liam and Timmy planned this.
  10. Co-sign. Hahn made the bullpen as TLR proof as possible and it still isn't working.
  11. My fiance doesn't watch much baseball and thinks Smoltz is trash at announcing. The only whiff in the production of this game is not getting Hawk in the booth. Homerism be damned.
  12. I initially liked the lack of strike zone for old time feel, but now I really want to rip the ump.
  13. The Sox with all these long ass beards is such a hysterical contrast to the Yanks.
  14. All is right in the world
  15. People at the game: is Gene Honda doing the PA announcements?
  16. ELOY SENDING BASEBALLS HOME TO HEAVEN
  17. I love that Papi is raving about the addition of Rizzo and what he adds chemistry and then they just go "Rizzo is out due to COVID."
  18. Doesn't match the olde-timey vibe. I want him interviewed via telegram, with newspaper photos of him spinning onto the game screen randomly like this:

He either really likes chicken or really likes spinach
  20. As they announce the lineups, I want Al Michaels to walk out of center field.
  21. They really like Sox outfielders named Luis.
  22. I would like Frank Thomas to try and recreate all of James Earl Jones' roles now.
