  1. I mean the closest parallel I can think of in history is the Confederacy, so, yeah.
  2. We wouldn't have them in the first place.
  3. Yeah — if people think Giolito is a 5+ ERA guy without McCann, then he needs to be traded ASAP. Edit: I don't believe this, for what it's worth.
  4. I did, looks like we were on similar pages regarding McCann. Just not two years ago. Also for context, this was me when we signed recently DFA'd McCann
  5. No, I just know you were trying to posit yourself as the smartest man in the room my establishing the earliest possible date for when the Sox could have extended James McCann, which was when he was fresh off of a DFA.
  6. Bonus: That lineup is protected against one or two players regressing and the loss of McCann. If you by some miracle added Springer and Hendriks, then the 4 and 5 spots in the rotation have less pressure to be studly out the gate.
  7. I like our three affiliates located in North Carolina. The Barons being farther away is strange, but the historic nature of that team is cool in its own right (Jordan, Rickwood hosting games once a year, etc.)
  8. This made me think of Jimmy Rollins, which to be fair, worked out in the end.
  9. I bet Eaton demands his number back from Madrigal.
  10. I'd rather have Mazara or Steele Walker, to be honest.
  11. Can someone explain to me the Lynn wouldn't be here without La Russa takes? Lynn didn't have a no trade clause.
  12. What moves do we need to make past those? It's kind of like GarPax thinking. Eventually using flexibility takes priority over flexibility.
  13. Since this was about the Lynn deal / concerned Dunning to the Cubs, this topic has ran it's course.
  14. My favorite part about this thread is that there are good takes on both sides, but then you have "lol lance lynn is fat lol" and "Dane Dernando Dunning will win the Cy Young". My big concern is that this is an all-in, win now move and I don't trust Jerry to open up the wallet for right field or the #4 and #5 spot in the rotation to make the Sox the clear favorites.
  15. If it's a name we all know, I'd guess Pilkington, Johnson, or Flores level
  16. I like this in a one year vacuum. Long term this gives me heebie jeebies
  17. He doesn't follow through on anything, so I wouldn't.
