  1. Fortunately there are no former All-Star starters with the initials JS to trade a young SS for. Laz Rivera and Lenyn Sosa are safe.
  2. Much safer to cross the big water on rafts.
  3. One time I was hit by a foul ball off of Sandy Alomar's bat, so I had to have been around 9 or 10. Being that young and in shock from a foul ball hitting me (we were sitting down the first base line, so it came in fast), the ball dropped to the floor. Some fat lady next to me took the ball and told my dad she had to take it because she'd be letting her grandkids at home down if she didn't. Her husband eventually bought me a hat because he felt bad, which I got signed by Miguel Olivo when we went to Grandstand after the game. That's gonna make roster moves difficult.
  4. Oh right. Forgot Boston knew he'd be at 3 and traded back.
  5. Magic's obsession with getting Lonzo Ball and LeBron James cost the Lakers the following: D'Angelo Russell Jordan Clarkson Larry Nance Jr. Brook Lopez Julius Randle Ivan Zubac Instead of Lonzo Ball they could have taken Jayson Tatum. Ingram, Hart, and Kuzma were all alienated after the AD saga. Then you have the Big Baller Brand drama on top of everything else.
  6. @bmags Sosa remains en fuego
  7. Man, also just saw Semien has 0.9 WAR already. Gio for Swisher was one thing, but man, shipping out Semien and Tatis Jr. is gonna be the ultimate stinger. Two homegrown shortstops traded for James Shields and Jeff Samardzija. Fortunately, there are no former All-Star starting pitchers with the initials JS to trade Lenyn Sosa or Laz Rivera for. But if we trade one for Joakim Soria or Joe Smith, they will become a stellar MLB player.
  8. I knew it was James Shields before looking it up, because of course it was.
  9. One outing does not change the grand scheme of things. Ruiz may have a future in the bullpen. Until Fulmer has sustained success at any level, it's hard to predict that for him.
  10. The reasoning is weak. Here's Trump hoisting a big ol' golden 45 Cubs jersey, made possible by a Cuban player

So, get that Robert extension ready...

"AW OH HO HO HO" Like music.
  13. For a long time it was primarily Wrigley. They're responsible for that stupid ass tradition. Just give it to a kid.
  14. Anyway throwing a home run ball back should be ejected from the stadium via catapult to Wrigley Field.
  15. It's easy to forget Cordell probably would have started the season with the MLB team if he weren't hurt last year. If he turns into anything it'd be a great get for Swarzak.
  16. Greg, you really need to get into sabermetrics in this case.

    My man. Caps lock.
  18. I want him back in some way, even if it's just when his career is done as a minor league coach.
  19. Man, don't mock Q.

    Guerrero with a weird line: 3.2 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K No errors...so all him?

The Yolmer hate is getting out control.
  22. I see Timmy is celebrating fatherhood well.
