  1. Definitely prefer Ockimey, Hernandez,and Lozada to Ball and Cosart and I think that would be the consensus. Ball does seem like a classic White Sox reclamation a la Humber.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:23 PM) He has potential "stars" in Moncada, Eloy, Anderson, Robert, Abreu still and Burger in the every day lineup. Maybe Avi as well. I forget the name of the guy but I thought we had some top catcher in the minors as well. Kopech and Rodon and Cease project to be stars. The Sox figure to draft a projected star next May since this team figures to lose a ton of games the rest of the way. Like you said, the development part is ahead, plus they figure to get another top prospect maybe 2 for Robertson. There always will be potential problems with defense and bullpen, but Hahn looks as if he is off to a good start (on paper). As fans I guess it would be very awesome if the players I mentioned do become stars and worry about defense and bullpen and buying a veteran starter or two to complement the rotation. Collins us the catcher. His defense is light years ahead of where it was expected to be, his power and walks are there. Average is missing.
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 04:04 AM) This is also fantastic https://twitter.com/sc_phalen27/status/885615491208925184 Perfect
  4. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 12:25 AM) Twitter says Ockimey, Hernandez,and Lozada That'd be great for Frazier QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 12:33 AM) Remember when baseball players were named Mike, Dave, and Steve? Who? What? I Don't Know?
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 11:41 PM) Rick Slattery??? Devers and Groome!
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 11:32 PM) If that doesn't make you horny, I don't know what will. Wetbutt23 showing up
  7. Guessing time: Jalen Beeks and Trey Ball, because left hands and Heads.
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 10:06 PM) He struck out...so get the hugs out of the way and lets do this Fitting sadly.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 05:10 PM) Siera Santos‏Verified account @SieraSantos 8m8 minutes ago Rick Hahn just sat down to address the media. Looked around and joked that we needed to "wait for wetbutt23"... #WhiteSoxTalk Amazing QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 06:09 PM) My only take on this is that this is a good nickname. Tbh thought you started this when I saw the title.
  10. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 05:57 PM) I'm just worried that he won't be the same after the surgery. Isn't that always a risk? Serious question... did Stephen Strasburg ever return to phenom status after his TJS? Three time All-Star since his TJS
  11. I agree with Greg, strange as that sounds. Trading Rodon or letting him walk would be a failure. If everyone hit their ceilings - Rodon Kopech Hansen Giolito Guerrero The rest serving as trade bait or high end relievers.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Fit all top 100 prospects that we have. You madman.
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 05:07 PM) That one would make a lot of sense. I'd love to somehow nab Fox.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 12:48 AM) Re: "in case he internets" While I'm sure he has visited Soxtalk before, (it's really quite common for FO people to check message boards to gauge fan satisfaction, and Soxtalk in particular is the first result on Google) Merkin or some writer also said that he has a Twitter account under an alias that he apparently uses regularly. I've always wondered which account it is. Jason is actually Rick Hahn.
  15. Why is it such a forgone conclusion Rodon is gone considering the only long term deal we have right now is Tim Anderson?
  16. Rose Flete Diaz Basabe Cease Dunning Lopez Giolito Robert Kopech Jimenez Moncada Reverse order.
  17. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 09:29 PM) Hahn grew up a Cubs fan. The Quintana trade gets the Cubs into the 2017 Playoffs. I figure after a couple of years of 100 losses the White Sox will show Hahn the door. He will then be hired by Epstein working for the cubs. This is more of a stretch than Jake Burger being signed with Rondo's savings.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 09:30 PM) I think we have more redundancy than that. They aren't as high profile yet but your Adolfo's / Skougs area other level and possible leaps from Gonzalez / Call / Fisher / Booker and you also have guys like Josue Guerrero. As well as Delmonico, and emergence from Davidson, Sanchez, Engel and Leury.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 09:25 PM) 100% Along those same lines, you can say we haven't acquired enough pitching because there's never enough pitching.
  20. LHP is definitely the biggest weakness. Need some arms behind Guerrero. Hopefully Rodon hangs around.
  21. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) Rumors are swirling of the Marlins ownership selling off the likes of Stanton and Yelich, 2 controllable young OF's with a proven track record. If we could put together a package without including any of Moncada, Robert, Eloy, Cease, Kopesch, or Hansen would you? The Phillies are rumored to be suitors and their farm system is nothing impressive in my opinion. I've been 100% on board with a full rebuild for years, but if we can get a long term bat like Yelich to speed the process up I'd be all for it. You're not getting Stanton without giving up one of Moncada, Robert or Eloy unless teams are really balking at the money. And if they are I don't know if I would as Stanton is 27 and fragile. I'd be extremely tempted to.
  22. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 06:56 PM) I really wished Quintana, Sale and Rodon were going to lead the sox to the post season sadly it didn't happen. Q was nothing but a pro, never b****ed or complained or showed his team mates up, while getting ND after ND. I will root for him on the north side. I will pull for the Cubs every fifth game.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:01 PM) It was the #1 system right around 2000. Scouting wasn't what it was today, however, and not many of those players turned into much. That system had no Moncada, Jimenez or Kopech either. Scouting is the difference maker here. Advanced metrics and more tools at scouts disposal (hello, HD video) makes scouting a much less exact science. But four elite prospects (I'm counting Robert)? Haven't had that in a long time if ever.
  24. 2 RBI single for Eloy.
