  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) David Haugh ‏@DavidHaugh 3m3 minutes ago Jose Abreu's reaction to White Sox trade for Todd Frazier, in English from El Floridita: "He's a good player who can hit. I love it." Side note, good for Jose. He's been working hard to learn English.
  2. "White Sox acquire Mike Trout" "He's too expensive and can't possibly be this good forever. Sox made a terrible deal. God Rick Hahn is awful."
  3. We were eventually going to start dealing pitchers, we all knew that. Holding onto Fulmer and Anderson makes this great. Bummed about losing Trayce, but let's be real, we sold high.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:14 AM) Apparently Frazier and Ethier will not cost Anderson nor Fulmer. Well, just Frazier.
  5. Holy s***. Definitely need Upton or Cespedes now.
  6. SoxNet breakdown, based on what we got. http://www.chicagonow.com/soxnet/2015/12/w...-heading-to-la/
  7. Trayce headed to LA, along with Micah.
  8. If it's not Puig, I'm a little uneasy unless the Dodgers magically soured on Pederson.
  9. Safe guess is Puig. Nothing else makes sense.
  10. QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 10:16 AM) Shelby Miller is 25 years old. He has had three solid years, not just one good year. He is arb eligible for the first time in 2016 and isn't a FA until 2019. He is also a pitcher, which some teams value a bit higher than position players. He was drafted by St. Louis in the first round, which has value right there ( ). He had a lot of value. AZ may have overpaid, but not by that much, and we don't know what others were offering for Miller, so who's to say the market didn't determine the cost. What would you have asked for from them for Quintana? AZ's package for Miller is one of the most absurd packages ever. They overpaid by a lot. Swanson + a B prospect would have worked.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 07:26 AM) 97% on RT. Over 100 reviews. Holy hell. So, how many records does this movie shatter?
  16. QUOTE (glangon @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 02:59 AM) Beltin "Bill" Melton it is then. "Behind the plate for the Sox is the new catcher they picked up in October, Diner Navaho." Oh dear god if they sign Cespedes
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) Bill Shaikin ‏@BillShaikin 49m49 minutes ago After years saying he never bet on baseball as Reds player-manager, Rose told Manfred he bet on EVERY Reds game: http://fw.to/s85xfdM "For many years, Rose denied he had bet on baseball as a player-manager with the Cincinnati Reds in 1985-86. In his September meeting with Manfred, according to the commissioner's decision, Rose said he had bet on every Cincinnati Reds game. Manfred said he had evidence Rose had not bet on every Reds game." KEEP LYING.

Finally watched The Two Escobars and June 17th, 1994. Both were fantastic.
  19. I guarantee we have at least three people complain about this signing proving that Rick Hahn isn't going for it.
  20. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) you know, i know you are making, probably a great point, but this is on me, i can't seem to understand it. fyi i am really sick and nasally. so pls forgive on this. but let me add this to what i perceived you are getting at. getting Davis is a real bad mistake, plain and simple. getting shields, maybe interesting, if and only if, they the Padres sweeten the pot. the sox FO could easily say no to any proposals, No worries bud, you've got it right. And feel better!
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) long term no, short term yes, esp added to danks contract, the sox FO will not go beyond what they think the team should spend. esp with 28 mil on the books that can not be moved. so if nothing else is done, do you think the team will do well??? the owners would not be b****ing in fans not coming out??? I said he's a short-term handicap, but that doesn't give a reason to make him a long-term one by taking on someone like Shields or signing Chris Davis to hysterical amounts to fill LaRoche's place.
  22. "LaRoche's $13M this year will handicap us forever!" "Let's go get Chris Davis for $150M" "Let's take James Shields" Guys, in the scheme of things, LaRoche isn't making a massive amount and is in no way a long-term handicap. He's a short term handicap and it would be foolish to make the situation a long term one.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 12:12 AM) If the Royals don't chill out, so to speak, next season, it's time for all teams to fight with them every single series. They won the gawd damn WS. They're not gonna win it every year, in fact, if they lose Gordon and the starting pitching reeks, they probably will dip right away. So if they make a big deal about Lawrie, we should throw at them, fight them, and so should every other team when they pull Royals-type bulls***. They won the title ... it's time to fricking chill out. If they don't chill out they are insufferable asses. Agreed?
