  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 02:19 PM) The ESPN predictor has Sale 7th. The list in front of him is kinda neat: Dallas Keuchel Sonny Gray Zach Britton Luke Gregerson Mark Buehrle Chris Archer Chris Sale lol at that list

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 02:11 PM) Of course on a day Davidson faced a future good major league pitcher, he goes 0-4 with 3 ks. Not sure what it means, but Viciedo is hitting .316 with Charlotte. Single and walk today. The prodigal son returns.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 12:49 PM) Wow, I didn't realize Alvarez has a career .419 OBP. That's crazy. He has incredible speed too. Only at high-A though, must be due to defense. Nah, it's because this is his first full season of pro-ball after not playing for so long due to the Olympics. He's got good defensive tools and he prides himself on defense, so he's been frustrated this year by the errors. He says they're mostly mental.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) I think they have the best shot out of any team though. Bogaerts and Betts would start the deal off and add 4-5 more players after that. Nah, Dodgers or Cubs have more bullets.
  5. Sale untouchable, Rodon and Q near untouchable, Fulmer can't be dealt. If they decide to resign Shark, dangle EJ, Montas, Danish and others on the trade market.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) Kurt Brown (drafted before Bonds), Joel Skinner, Joe Borchard, Josh Fields, Brian Anderson, Jon Rauch, Daryl Boston, KW, Chris Snopek, Mike Caruso, Scott Ruffcorn, Jimmy Hurst, Jeff Abbott, Jeremy Reed, Lorenzo Barcelo, Danny Wright, Jim Parque, Jason Stumm, Kris Honel, Felix Diaz, Arnie Munoz, Miguel Gonzalez, Jerry Owens, Poreda, Royce Ring, Matt Ginter, Keenyn Walker, etc. Caulfield'd
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) I've learned to not doubt Chris Sale. He's got a shot. This holds true, especially after that Cubs game. I think he has a shot to break 20 this year.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) Which is why Hoiberg should have stayed at Iowa State. Rose is the kind of guy who gets coaches fired quick. Of course I do. But I realize it's not going to ever happen. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) Then you never have the right to say "Your value of yourself is inflated." to anyone and mean it in a negative context as you just did with Kenny Williams. Ding ding ding. Same for Bill Self. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) I dont recall there being a slew of different coaches who were fired "quick" while coaching Rose. VDN two years, defied front office. Thibs five years, defied front office. DERRICK GETS THEM FIRED QUICK. But nah, Greg just has an irrational dislike of Rose because he suffered two major injuries and earns a lot of money that he got for being the youngest MVP ever. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) It's almost time for a Chris Broussard meme. MY SOURCES TELL ME THE LEAK IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Robin should buy some books and learn how to teach fundamentals in spring training, then. Kenny sounds like the worst executive a team can have. Please leave, Kenny. Go to Hollywood and be a model or something. Your value of yourself is inflated. But you want Ozzie back.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) I don't blame Kenny Williams for our inability to develop position players. I'd fire Buddy Bell for that. +1
  11. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 02:37 AM) LOL - then let's relentlessly question "how they work". Their "how we work" approach has been devoid of any results for a decade now. It's been a disaster, and nothing from the recent past creates any confidence in the near or long-tear future. We need new ownership, folks - it's as simple as that. Otherwise, until then, we'll get yet another round of the KW/KH failed way to get us into the playoffs. Where have we heard this nonsense before! Our Southside franchise has no hope for survival outside a more frequent and expected return to postseason play. Jerry Reinsdorf has proven unable to provide the Sox fan base that most minimal of expectations. How do we lift ourselves as Sox fans above this malaise? I feel we're doing the Sox' work for them - soliciting their expertise. Let everyone figure it out for themselves! Do you ever not include Jerry Reinsdorf in a post?
  12. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Aug 19, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) There are a relatively finite number of humans on earth with a shot at being an average-or-above major league third baseman in 2016. If not Hanley, who could/should the Sox plausibly get to play there and upgrade the offense next year? I'd honestly rather Saladino.
  13. Really excited to see Heidenreich in AA.
  14. Beckham vs. Gillaspie feels a lot like Nix vs. Getz
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 11:30 PM) Awesome game melky Eh, he worked some good at bats. I can't be mad at him for that.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 11:01 PM) What the hell abreu ...that...that was bad
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) I think they made their bets on competing with Samardzija. "If we keep playing like this, we'll be right there in the end" - Rick Hahn. They're not going to eat Danks's money, they're not going to shut down Sale or Quintana or Rodon, Samardzija has to pitch, they'd have to release someone from the bullpen to move Danks there, they may as well pretend to be competitive until Sept. 1 since they already committed to it. This is the best breakdown.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) I have to imagine all is forgiven with Yankees fans by this point. Already having a huge year at the plate, hit a game-changing grand slam in the 7th tonight. Funny how that works. I'm wondering if the year off rejuvenated him to the point that he might be able to get the record.
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) He'll be up in September and start next season in our rotation IMO (unless he's moved in a trade). If Shark is here, I see EJ traded. If EJ is here, we've got a comp pick.

    2015 Films thread

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 07:55 AM) Yea that was bad. Also the actor who played Snoop Dogg looked and was nothing like him. Just terrible. So many of the look-a-likes and actors were good. Then there was whatever the hell Snoop Dogg was. It was a really well made film, though it should be subtitled "Ice Cube doesn't understand record deals." And yeah, Eazy rocking the Sox hat in 1986 was kind of funny.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 01:54 PM) Where he is wrong is the Quintanta + something. It would be Puig + something for Quintana. Q remains one of the most underrated players in the game. 17th in fWAR right behind Lester and Cole. 9th last year, tied with Sale. But it'd be Q+ apparently, because baseball writers can't bother to do basic research. If anything, it'd be something like EJ + prospects for Puig, which I doubt the Dodgers take.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) If I knew how to post gifs, I would post the Michael Scott "nooooo" gif. Just like any other image.
