  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) Gillaspie is going to hit a 3 run homer in his first at bat. It will then no longer be questionable.
  2. QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:30 AM) So apparently Gillaspie is hitting third today haha The questionable decisions begin.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:25 AM) Forgot about that. Yeah that was stupid.
  4. I enjoy baseball being back.
  5. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 09:30 AM) Thank you for starting this thread. A lack of a middle of the order left handed bat continues to be the most glaring flaw in the Sox organization. There isn't a single candidate at either the Major League, or Minor League level, who could realistically be expected to contribute any time soon. It's a shame that there probably isn't even a candidate to fill this void, in the upcoming Amateur Draft, and that's picking third, with likely all of the position players, from whom to choose!! You know, there are these things we call trades.
  6. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 30, 2014 -> 06:37 PM) Ho-le s***. Never even realized this was named after United Airlines. I guess I just assumed it was a generic name. HAHAHA. This was me for the longest time. When I realized it was United Airlines, I had to pause for a moment. Shame about Bacardi at the Park. Bacardi Park wouldn't have been awful.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 30, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) I still hate this line of thinking. I hope Semien proves it wrong if it happens, but I want him to get some AAA experience first instead of heading right to the bigs. I'm cautious after what happened with Gordon.
  8. Most people here seemingly want Semien to turn out like Beckham by rushing him. Let him develop a bit in AAA first. Please.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 30, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Wilson Betemit's a different situation. He was a busted prospect from another organization, and he wasn't sitting with a guaranteed $4-5 million contract. And Beckham was a legit Top 20-30 prospect in the majors at one point, compared to Semien being on the outside of the Top 100. Semien wasn't even in/on most organizational Top 10 lists before 2013. Two years ago, Tyler Saladino was Marcus Semien. Ah, so...we want to put the not Top 100 prospect in the same situation that caused the legit Top 20-30 prospect to fail?
  10. Ugh, Rodon. Gimme.
  11. I thought there was some new Hanigan on the block that I didn't ever hear of. Nope.
  12. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 30, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) Nothing is worse than O.co Coliseum I agree that some dont "hurt" to say. Like the United Center. Busch Stadium. Great American Ball Park may be one of the best. Agreed with these. US Cellular is right up with Minute Maid Park. I wish Marshall Fields still existed, because Marshall Field would have been amusing.
  13. Wish I had an angle to actually see Beck's pitches.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 28, 2014 -> 01:39 PM) A name that comes to mind immediately as a player the Sox could show interest in this year, ala Freddy Garcia in 2004, is Yovani Gallardo, depending on how his velocity looks this year as it's been decreasing in recent years. Obviously, you prefer players with a lot of team control left, but those players are going for a premium at this point. Gallardo, who just turned 28, is a guy who was supposed to be a stud and has fallen off a bit in recent years. He's still always had really good stuff and could be a guy that becomes available for trade this year if/when the Brewers fall out of contention. Given his numbers, he could be a guy that re-signs for around that magic $12 mill a year or so, and he fits the profile of a #2/#3 starter that could be used to solidify the depth of the rotation. His profile as a power sinker, ground ball pitcher who also strikes guys out fits what the Sox are looking for too. Given the Sox dearth of pitching plus numerous other interesting prospects (and even Gillaspie as a possible throw-in type), the two sides could easily make a deal. I like this and it makes sense. Points to wite.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 27, 2014 -> 09:26 PM) That's the worst trailer I've ever seen. Horrible design. Horrible acting. Horrible cgi (is it 2014?). And a concept that makes little sense. Replace the turtles with transformers and all the sudden it actually makes more sense. That somehow made me less excited for a movie I wasn't excited about to begin with.
  16. Noooope.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2014 -> 05:46 PM) Holy macaroni. This contract will be very awful very quickly.

    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 27, 2014 -> 02:47 PM) I'm really not concerned about price, I'd rather someone I know get it. $30? That's $40 off... Yeah, I'd definitely pay $30 + mailing cost for it.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 05:03 AM) Wait 2 weeks and I will sell you mine. Depending on price, I'll think about it for sure.
  20. I hate both teams. I enjoy watching both teams be whiny little b****es to one another.
  21. God I hate Wade.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 08:30 PM) ? Scratched from start, back inflammation. Once the back starts acting weird, it becomes worrisome.
  23. Now the Kershaw deal looks a bit worrisome.

    I dig it.
