I wouldn't put all of my faith in a guy who has only played one season of pro ball. If he gets hurt it could be long term. Meanwhile I'm starting to dislike or get frustrated with this team because of all of the injuries.

I know everyone is gitty because of Kimbrel's AL performance was terrible. So they trade a guy who hasn't really faced AL hitters for a guy who hasn't faced AL pitchers. NL players don't have much success in a Sox uniform so I guess the expectations if for defense. Sox have bad luck with career NL players. Hahn's trades rarely work. You hope that will change someday. I would have preferred some ready to play prospects but that is long term thinking.

I'm not a fan of Katz. Many of our pitchers had nice K counts but easily done after 6. The pen was a mental breakdown and this team surrendered a lot of 8 inning leads.

Like improve the ability to catch a baseball........

The Sox could definitely use another NL guy that once they put on that Sox uniform underachievement sets in.

Hard to trade a guy where catching a baseball is not a skill, He might be a career minor leaguer and that's it.

They'll probably go for more veteran NL talent that doesn't produce for them. How a MLB team pans out in the end of a season is the least predictable in pro sports. No one was gung ho over the 2004 offseason acquisitions. Another WS was in the bag after getting Thome. There's plenty of coulda, woulda, shoulda, when it comes to the trade deadline. The Sox didn't have much to trade and some teams probably avoided trading with them for competitive reasons. I think this organization is back to thinking they can out hit their deficiencies.
