  1. I think the only changes possible are fans finding another team.
  2. Too much failure in high leverage situations, I mostly speak of the pen.
  3. This is an excellent post. Most fans want trades are more emotional than rational. Get a haul never happens. Some fans think they should trade Robert. Last I heard Veeck no longer owns the team where he couldn't afford to keep better players. People forget it is who is doing the trading. The Sox are not good at scouting even the big league players. Then there is development. Better small market organizations value their better prospects. Only teams with the win now mode and nothing left on the farm in case of injury. There's speculation the Padres may trade Soto. So far they win the big disappointment title.
  4. The Sox are cheap in coaching and managing. I find it unlikely any GM would really give a team like this over to someone with no manager experience or with stunning credentials. I think this was JRs choice based on a spreadsheet. Hahn's choice - no.
  5. I just wish it would rub off on other players.
  6. This game is gonna be a tease. After coming back the pen will say "oh no u don't"
  7. The scary part of trading is the one doing the trading.
  8. They should also try a new pitching coach. If the starters could do the unheard of complete game or go 7 they are closer to .500. Amazed how mentally weak this pen is. Too much unclutch. You know with a late 1 run lead it's gonna be a loss.
  9. Sad when a players best skill is health. Grifol would play Sheets in the OF and have Colas DH or give Colas a day off after going 2for3.
  10. If they fire him it will be a lateral replacement. Scouting and development remains the same.
  11. It destroys the theory of the Sox trading their best players for this make believe haul. It would be a fantasy to have a farm system that has players who are there because there is no ML roster spot for them. Trading your best players like a Robert is something a small market team operates. Some organizations can do that because they better scouting and development. Then there are the Royals who never get better. The Sox are closer to they Royals than the Rays. So the idea of a haul is closer to a fleece. It's not yesterdays news that opposing GMs know the Sox are not good at scouting and development.
  12. How many Sox fans were hoping for an A's walkoff win?
  13. Might next year as well. They are extrememly weak at catcher and they might have to sign him. Plus I can't imagine he has any trade value.
  14. So the last time a starter went into the 7th was Lance Lynn? I'm not a fan of the hewer innings starters when you have a mentally weak pen.
  15. Only if you use the Sox yardstick. Drafting and development was just as bad.
