  1. I honestly don't know if he is going to want to risk it. He didn't exactly have a big market the first go around, and now he is a little older. Couple that with the fact he is a legit DH, already 15 teams are eliminated from his market. Yankees won't be in on him, and I think it would be pretty easy to eliminate most of the remaining AL teams (Orioles, Rays, Tigers, Twins, A's for instance). I'll be interesting. If he can put up 40 bombs again, maybe... But if he has anything that looks like regression, I could see him playing it safe. Plus he is on Boston. Not like there are many better teams available.
  2. I don't really see Martinez opting out. Even if he does, I don't see the Sox going after him. They won't be a top player for one of the best FA available. If I had to pick out of the list who I think stands the best chance to be on the Sox come 2020, it'll be one of Marcell Ozuna or Khris Davis. For pitching, I'll go with Michael Wacha, Jake Odorizzi, or Rick Porcello. Those guys seem much more within the Sox standards of FA (2nd tier and down). Though I would be completely shocked if they are actually able to convert on any starter. We're going to hear a whole lot of "won't go beyond 4 years" with these guys thanks to JR's inevitable contract restrictions. I'm pretty convinced they are going with the sink-or-swim mentality regarding catcher. I really have a gut feeling we're going to most likely see Zavala/Collins as a platoon. I simply have zero expectations on what they will actually be able to convert on within the market after this disastrous offseason.
  3. I don't think think you need to worry about the Sox tinkering with anything. Eloy knows what he is doing.
  4. At least he didn’t break. Still unbelievable though. Kid can’t stay healthy. Someone has to tell him to slow down.
  5. I don't see this fit at all. I don't even think Washington would even have that much interest to move him. If the Sox are gonna take on a contract, it should be Greinke.
  6. Sox went out and signed Sean Nolin. We win the offseason!
  7. I don't have much faith Hansen sticks as a starter. Seems to be too many glaring issues with him right now.
  8. All he has to do is stay healthy!
  9. Ah, I usually pay for it. Won 1st in a big baseball money league and placed 2nd in a football one last year. More than paid for the account cost.
  10. I usually use FantasyPros for anything fantasy related. https://www.fantasypros.com/mlb/auction-values/calculator.php
  11. Ban bets are a b****, huh?
  12. My god. This organization is a fucking dumpster fire... We're fucking doomed with these clowns running things.
  13. I'll give you a hint: J**** R********
  14. Figured he was playing off the reports earlier that Philly was starting to look at Keuchel/Kimbrel.
  15. Harper also has a terrible slash line in that park. It'll hurt his ability to opt out to get a better contract.
  16. Sounds more like his opinion, but he did have legit scoop earlier in the offseason. This offseason is certainly not turning out the way I pictured it.
  17. Would it really surprise you though? Pederson right now would be such a White Sox move. Personally, I was thinking Hill + prospect(s) as I don't think shedding Pederson's 2019 salary would be enough to get the Dodgers where they need to be. Wouldn't surprise me as we all know they clearly had discussions back in January and have traded with each other before. Edit: It also fits the "money will be spent" narrative.
  18. I think the Sox are involved in this, but only as the team that will allow for the Dodgers to create payroll space for Harper should they agree to a deal. I can't see them dishing out a contract long enough for Harper and higher than what everyone else is offering.
  19. He had TJ when he was in high school, unless I am mistaken. I was talking about in general, not currently.
  20. So now it appears that all three top prospect arms have/will have TJ. Giolito too for that matter. Yikes.
  21. Send him to the Dodgers, take on Hill’s entire salary + a guy like Bellinger. Balance out the value of Bellinger with a few minor leaguers, no one too highly rated since there’s a lot of dead weight coming in with Hill’s $$$. Allows the Dodgers to sign Harper.
  22. Jumping on too late has nothing to do with it. The Cubs and Astros also have much more compitent FO’s and excel in just about every facet compared to the Sox.
