  1. I could see that. Vargas doesn't seem to have the bat for 1B, and his defense is too rough at 3B to stick there. Like you said, he's kind of a complementary player rather than a lineup fixture long-term.
  2. I don't think they would. Ishbia is going to want to own the new stadium. Working with the Friends of the Park is nothing but a disaster.
  3. I'd move him if the price is right. I've never really considered Vargas as a player that will be here when this team is ready to compete.
  4. He has a digital marketing company with his brother that must be doing fairly well. It's not like he was being guaranteed league minimum bouncing between Charlotte and Chicago this past season. Probably way more consistent for what he wants out of life at this point.
  5. I'd be onboard for trading Quero for a young MLB ready outfielder. It does feel a bit premature though, but I'd accept the logic behind it. I just really hope Getz doesn't package him with dead weight like Benny to get out from under that contract of his...
  6. They'd have an increased likelihood they'd get traded to a contender. But Giolito is not coming anywhere near the Sox. Jerry is never going to bring back the team's former MLBPA representative, and one who they squabbled with over Arbitration.
  7. I'd take a flyer on Seymour - they can always cut him if they need the 40-man spot. Although, he may not be much more than a LH version of Elko...
  8. Yep, he's an easy DFA, and re-sign with ST invite if they want to keep him around.
  9. Nashville makes too much sense for an expansion team. Especially the location - it would really allow for the league to realign divisions like we've seen suggested the past few years. I'd love to see the Expos return, but I'd think we see another team elsewhere before that happens.
  10. I believe he could theoretically stay "hurt" all year, but then he has all the requirements of a R5 again for the following 2027 season. No team is going to do that unless the guy is Skenes level. Plus, is there even going to be a 2027 season? So 2028... I joke, but...
  11. But he has to stay on the active roster for the team that claims him for 90 days. So you're looking at a team rehabbing him in ST, then somehow working him back immediately into a MLB bullpen to hit the minimum days required. I just can't see it being a possibility with the amount of arms out there that are more likely to be selected and healthier.
  12. Adams coming off TJ surgery, I'd think he'd be a safe bet to leave off. Would another team really risk carrying a guy that isn't even necessarily going to be ready to start the year?
  13. Has to be a minor league position, right?
  14. I'm surprised Robertson has any value to another MLB team. There wasn't a single thing he did that I was impressed with in his short sampling this year.
  15. Non-tender Wilson and Hill. I'd tender Tauchman, even though I do think the guy is starting to breakdown. He seemed to have a positive influence on the team though, so I'd bring him back. Wilson was already DFA'd by the Sox and they are going to need the space to protect some arms from the R5.
  16. I certainly don't. He looked really brutal towards the end of this year.
  17. Adams is coming off TJ, I highly doubt that kid will be ready.
  18. Yep. Unfortunately, I don't see how his value is anything more than what it was this past July. Might even be lower. Teams would have to be run by an incompetent moron to trade for a guy who is guaranteed to sit on the shelf 25-50% of the season year in and year out.
  19. He definitely has, there's been some positives on the hitting side of things this year to think they may actually be able to 'fix' a few guys.
