When was the last time the Sox had a stacked 40 man like this? There's always been filler, even in the mid-2000s. I can't remember a time where I thought that all the guys on the 40 man were real assets.

This was also the case with NASCAR tracks in the mid-to-late 90s. All the old school tracks that were a part of the culture and history of the sport were taken off of the schedule and replaced by billion-dollar, sterile, cookie cutters with no identity ... all for the media booths, suites and amenities.
