  1. Cameron Maybin was really damn good for the Yankees last year. But, I mean... we already have a player of his prototype, who by my incredibly optimistic outlook, is going to breakout this season.
  2. When was the last time the Sox had a stacked 40 man like this? There's always been filler, even in the mid-2000s. I can't remember a time where I thought that all the guys on the 40 man were real assets.
  3. This was also the case with NASCAR tracks in the mid-to-late 90s. All the old school tracks that were a part of the culture and history of the sport were taken off of the schedule and replaced by billion-dollar, sterile, cookie cutters with no identity ... all for the media booths, suites and amenities.
  4. Did Steve Stone sign a contract today?
  5. Then... just move on with your damn life instead of commenting and replying to everyone. How about that? If a thread about Cordell is a waste of time, why are you wasting your time in here? GMAFB
  6. Ryan Cordell is emblematic of White Sox baseball since 2013. He represents everything we struggled to watch as baseball fans. Yes, its important.
  7. I'm perfectly fine with Mendick and Larry until Madrigal comes up in May. Bullpen Help >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Utility infielder
  8. you saying Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?
  9. Its gonna be awfully hard for Renteria to mess up a lineup with a bunch of all-stars to shuffle around. Its a much different story when its ~0 war guys... but when you have Robert, Moncada, Jimenez, Abreu, Grandal, Anderson, Garcia, McCann ... I don't think the order in which they bat really matters as much as when you have 2 or 3 lineup threats. ** just typing that comma-delimited list of names gave me a semi
  10. I remember when Harold Reynolds predicted Gordon Beckham for the hall of fame.
  11. my favorite part was the empty bulleted list with a border-radius and box-shadow on it for literally no reason
  12. I posted this in another thread a couple of days ago, but if you look at what the Sox and Hahn have pulled off this off-season, they've added ~15 WAR and gave up Steele Walker in the process. I really doubt that the FO is gonna trade a B+ prospect for a short term fix for the bullpen, unless they've really soured on him. Stone eluded to it in a tweet, "you work with your best asset, which is knowing your prospects better than anyone else" ... whatever his tweet was exactly, he was hinting that the Sox might trade a prospect for a reliever, and it's because they don't have that guy's name on KW's big white board. How many recent trades for relievers netted the other team something substantial? (this isn't a rhetorical question) Looking through some trade history on the BA trade tracker, not a lot of teams trading relievers got much back other than some salary relief, slot money, or flyer prospects. Only the big names and closer-types drew real returns. 30 days ago, I'd be thinking differently, but I trust RickyGM.
  13. That guy has me blocked and I’ve never interacted with him.
  14. Think about it. Rick Hahn added ~15 war this offseason and gave up Steele Walker.
  15. Ya I hope JR and Co are stocking up on fireworks.
  16. Ya I think the most likely scenario is Adam Engel and Leury opening day. Which is perfectly fine.
  17. A lot of people assumed it was the only move they’d make and would instead settle for brining back Nova etc
  18. I’ll take a bunch of 3 WAR guys spread over 255m as opposed to a single 6 WAR guy. thanks Sox FO for knowing better than this meat head fan.
  19. Ya and we all know too well what that shit feels like.
