I played my first game last night. I skipped ST and went straight to opening day. I beat the Royals 11-0. Gio threw a one-hit 79-pitch SO with 17 Ks.

This is awful. Sorry for you, bud. I know the feels. My mom just had bypass in September and is having a followup procedure in early April. I was going to travel to Chi to help her out, but I can't. And honestly, I'm a bit scared for her spending that much time in a place where "infected patients" will be as well as those caring for them.

I don't remember the game, but most "memorable" for me, as a kid.... I was a big Don Mattingly fan. My Dad got tickets for a Yankees/Sox game at the old park. I waited in line for what seemed like an eternity during Yankees BP for an autograph, but the only Yankee that was signing was Jack Clark. So I had to settle for that. In terms of "Sox history" - probably 2006 opening day and surviving that rain delay and knowing "Jon Miller probably lost his shit on that Thome homer"

As a Dodgers fan, this trade makes me pretty excited. As a Sox fan, I am a bit bummed Maeda is going to the Twins. I was hoping maybe the Sox would have targeted him. Maeda pitching for the Twins is not good for the Sox.
