  1. They name anywhere from three to five finalists depending on how close the vote totals are. Taking only three signifies a substantial gap between third and fourth place.
  2. Nobody is going to trade for LaRoche.
  3. Just realized something about next season. The four best teams on ND's schedule [based on this year's rankings] (MSU, Stanford, Navy, USC) are all losing their quarterbacks. If next year isn't ND's year, it may never be.
  4. Question for older Sox fans. Seemingly random, I know, but this stems from a discussion on a highway/geography discussion board. Between the 1971-72 seasons, the Washington Senators moved to Texas to become the Rangers and got switched from the AL East to AL West. The accompanying move was the Milwaukee Brewers moving from West to East. Chicago is (very slightly) farther east than Milwaukee. Were the Sox not given the opportunity to switch, or did they turn it down?
  5. Their records are only one game difference and NW did not have to play OSU or MSU. Plus, their head to head game wasn't even close. I am also of the philosophy that as loss totals increase, records become less important in comparisons. Zero vs one loss - major importance, one vs two losses - high importance, beyond that, much less important.
  6. They played each other and it wasn't even close.
  7. Why not go after Kendrick insted?
  8. I can't even name one of their songs.
  9. BIG Bowls (early predictions) 12/26 Pinstripe Bowl: Indiana vs Duke (W) 12/26 Foster Farms Bowl: Nebraska vs UCLA (L) 12/28 Quck Lan Bowl: Minnesota vs Central Michigan (L) 12/30 Holiday Bowl: Wisconsin vs USC (L) 12/31 Cotton Bowl/Playoff: Michigan St vs Alabama (W) 1/1 Outback Bowl: Northwestern vs Tennessee (W) 1/1 Citrus Bowl: Michigan vs Florida (W) 1/1 Fiesta Bowl: Ohio St vs Notre Dame (L) 1/1 Rose Bowl: Iowa vs Stanford (L) 1/2 Taxslayer Bowl: Penn State vs Georgia (L)
  10. MSU is a bad matchup for Alabama. MSU's achilles heel is pass defense and Alabama hasn't shown a consistent passing game. Also, MSU has a good passing game that can target the weakest (relatively speaking) part of Bama's defense.
  11. My final rankings would have been: 1 Clemson 2 Michigan St 3 Oklahoma 4 Alabama 5 Stanford 6 Ohio State 7 Iowa 8 Notre Dame 9 Florida State 10 TCU 11 Mississippi 12 North Carolina 13 Michigan 14 Oregon 15 Northwestern 16 Oklahoma State 17 Houston 18 Baylor 19 LSU 20 Florida 21 Navy 22 Tennessee 23 Utah 24 USC 25 Temple
  12. Liberal responses were different though: Colorado shooting: "Blame all pro-lifers for the actions of one" California shooting: "Don't blame all Muslims for the actions of two"
  13. Looks like 1-1 for the BIG in those games.
  14. Third base? I don't know.
  15. Technically he was taken off the 40 man yesterday and put back on today.
  16. It has some traits from both categories. That's what makes it so weird.
  17. These weren't automatic. Automatic = able to fire many bullets with a single pull of the trigger.
  18. Sox desperately need more of that.
  19. Makes Flowers non-tender more understandable.
  20. Yeah, I actually disliked Flowers less this year than I ever had before. Still, it's not a huge loss.
  21. ND gets to go for the I-state trifecta on Dec. 19. Not sure if there's still time to schedule Idaho.
  22. I have confidence that Hahn won't send Q packing for anything less than a deal that would seem tremendously one-sided in his favor.
  23. Their defense is pretty good. Yeah, pass more so than run, but their run defense isn't that bad. Cook torched lots of teams for big yards.
  24. I will note that the author did not cite Darren Wilson as someone who used unreasonable force or lied about it.
