  1. Sanchez has achieved the elusive -1 wRC+. A good reminder to look at things like BABIP, BB% and K% for short-term AAA stats.
  2. Runners are now 8 for 8 off Carlos this year. Seems extremely easy to run on him, for a lefty too.
  3. You just can't keep putting up zeroes while throwing so many balls. Throw strikes, Carlos.
  4. Are we all done laughing at the Fangraphs guys who said this team wasn't good and then said this team should consider selling?
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 09:22 PM) He can still go negative correct? Didn't Leury have a negative wRC+ last year? Leury's was 2, but yes it's possible to go negative
  6. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Sanchez has officially hit a wRC+ of 0. 0. Over 102 plate appearances. 0. .141/.200/.174. For context, the next lowest wRC+ for players with over 100 PA is Kristopher Negron's 23.
  7. Sanchez has officially hit a wRC+ of 0. 0. Over 102 plate appearances. 0. .141/.200/.174.
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) Micah sucked defensively in an incredibly small sample. He was made the scapegoat for our teamwide defensive issues. He deserved a longer opportunity with us. Unfortunately, we've now given 100 PAs to a guy with a motherf***ing 3 wRC+ b/c we over-reacted to a handful of bad plays from Micah. It was stupid then, looks even more ridiculous now. There was one clear candidate for second base for the next 6 years and we traded him and other useful pieces for one god damn year of Jeff Samardzija on a poor roster
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 07:40 PM) Amazing that Avi is in the low 270s now Amazing that people are amazed. He's now at -0.3 WAR, good for his 3rd consecutive year of a minus WAR for the White Sox. And yet Rick Hahn called him "untouchable" in leaked trade talks with the Astros, Kenny Williams is convinced a 30 HR, 30 SB season is right around the corner and just about everyone else associated with the Sox thinks he's a future great too.
  10. He's just not that good a baseball player, fooled many into thinking he was due to a BABIP mirage and has somehow managed to convince the org he is a future great without even displaying basic competency thus far
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 10:43 AM) How do you know there is a lack of urgency? Did you read it on a message board? The fact is, your favorite team and model organization hasn't been all that great the last couple of months. I guess their leadership or coaching or something must be lacking. The leadership crap is just like the chemistry argument. Konerko was a great leader in 2005. When the team is bad in 2013, where is the leadership. You can have great leaders, that doesn't mean you will win more games than you lose. Have you ever even played a baseball game or any game for that matter? Does the team with the best coach usually win? Or is it the team with the best leaders? Or is it the team with the best players? Or is it the team with the best performers? I'll go with the last one. Agreed
  12. The starter for Cal State, Thomas Eshelman, has insane K/BB ratios all 3 years in college. I would have drafted the hell out of him.
  13. The problem with trading Sale is to justify trading away that player and that contract, you would have to get more than any team could justify giving up. Something like Urias/Seager/DeLeon/Schebler from the Dodgers.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:53 PM) The ML team is so dull, I'm now interested in Kanny org guys. Who is this Hunter Jones and from whence he came? 11th round pick of the Indians in 2010 who hit terribly for them and then hit well in rookie-ball for us before flattening out at A-ball. Nearly 24. Not interesting.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 05:24 AM) i just saw something on Winston Salem box score. Toby Thomas, is playing 3b. according to what i was able to read on him, he is a 1b and started at 1b. i wonder when they moved him? i wonder how he is doing defensively? i see he can hit, but all the little things that make a 3b good, does he have that? He can't hit, and he's nothing worth looking at, just an org body
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) was that really necessary. It was a... joke?
  17. What y'all got against my boy Junior Guerra, assholes
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) So do you bring back Leury, or is that deck chairs move? No no no no no no no. Saladino maybe, if he starts hitting.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) There have been many hitters who look good in AAA but can't hit in the MLB. Hitters that hit consistently well at AAA more often than not hit at MLB when given enough of a chance. Now, there absolutely can exist a fatal flaw in a hitter that's not exposed enough in AAA but is in the majors, but I stand by it that more often than not, they'll hit.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) They can't both be inept? I think major league managers as a whole aren't great at in-game decisions. Robin actually rated quite highly in bullpen usage last year. Given the baffling bullpen decisions I've seen him make, I can only think there's a whole lot of bad bullpen managers out there. So you can get rid of Robin, but I doubt he's replaced with anyone better.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Shark vs Archer tomorrow. Why bother... Archer might set some records tomorrow
  22. Maybe some will lay off Robin a bit more now. He makes bad calls but the grass ain't always greener, tonight was a horrendously coached game.
