I mean with Rick Anderson the new pitching coach there, Art Howe the manager, I think William would jump at the chance to go there. I still don't see the Johnson deal happening with prospects. Cashman realizes he is on the hot seat. Listening to New York sports talk radio and reading the New York Times, I think there would be an assasination attempt on Cashman's life if he traded for medium grade talent. Steinbrenner also has a love affair with Johnson. He started talking Nick Johnson up before Johnson even reached the majors. To get Johnson and Soriano I think Marte would have to be sent to the Yankees. The Yankees want some Grade-A quality in that bullpen, and marte, as we know, is grade-A. Magglio, Marte, and Ginter would get it done. In recent years the main purpose of the Yankees farm system has been to acquire talent. The only players they have kept since the mid-90's are Johnson and Soriano. Most don't even consider Soriano a 'home-grown product' since the Yankees bought him from Japan. THat's why I think r gonna regret that Boone for Claussen and prospects deal. Claussen could turn out to be a stud lefty, while Boone is the new Jeff Cirillo of the East after his performance with da Yanks. Yanks should just wait till 2005 to make their big FA's moves but it ain't gonna happen.

I don't want to trade him either, the guy's a stud, but we just can't afford to pay one of our players 1/4 of da payroll. Only teams like da Dodgers, Yankees etc. can afford that. I'd rather trade Koch to the Mets and ship Konerko off sumwhere for anythin 1st, and then see what happens. It's a pity he can't rework his deal like u can in the NFL, cos I'm sure Maggs would do that. I think he really wants to win a championship badly.

He was a free agent cos he was originally in Boston, but he won arbitration of $2.5 mill, but Boston then didn't want to offa him a contract cos obviously the price was too high. The Hawks got him cos they offered him less than 80% of the arbitration deal othawise Boston would hav had da right to match. Pulford said da Hawks were lucky to get him, a couple of teams wanted him badly too. I don't mind da signing, I just hope it doesn't take ice time away from a young D-Man like McCarthy or Kukkonen, when he should be taking da spot of Quint or Krapov.

I still got Mario Kart 64 on my Nintendo 64 which I don't use anymore. I'm more lookin forward to Sims 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 comin out instead, but Mario Kart is always fun.
