  1. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) dude the Titans lost both their CB's Dyson and Rolle... I think they will be taking Pac Man Jones And that's what makes this such an interesting pick. I just thought since they've lost Derrick Mason and Justin McCareins from their receiving corps over the past 2 seasons, it's been getting a little thin. Chow will probably want to use some 3 receiver sets, and even though Calico should be back, he probably can't be counted on making it through a whole season. With the new defensive rules, it's probably more important to take a good receiver over a good cornerback these days. This is a deep CB draft as well, so they can easily select a starter in the 2nd or 3rd round as well. I think #6 is still a little early for Pac-Man, and maybe the Titans can trade down to selct him or Rolle or even Alex Barron.
  2. QUOTE(chisox05 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) First off that makes no sense, if he wont be on the board, how can u say "if edwards is somehow still on the board". That makes no frign sense. Second, tell me who would pick him instead? The bears could but thatd mean williams would be the 6th pick and ud be saying the same thing. I know you hate Edwards because you think he's a Terrell clone, but the 49ers have been giving him serious consideration to taking him with the 1st choice. I know everyone around here wants Mike Williams, but whether Jerry Angelo is on the same wave length... I don't know.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Does anyone else think 15 HR's in 172 IP is not bad at all? Compared to what the likes of Buerhle and Garland gave up in 2004, no not at all. But that number would definitely go up with those IP at the Cell.
  5. Scott just answered my 1st question and he's onto Alex's 1st now about Pierzynski.
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) SoxTalk plug! Haha nice, I just heard that too. Now lets gets some SoxTalk members calling in.
  7. And are we going to change the draft time or leave it as it is?

  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) Hope he's not injury-prone...6'9 is a bit undersized and he's been missing games left and right... I like having Curry over not having a true center. There aren't many true centers that can score like he can. The Bulls have been winning with him. Skiles' minute distribution is getting a little ridiculous...I'm ready to see Curry and Chandler starting and getting into a nice rythm... There are plenty of centers on the market out there to replace Curry in Ilgaulskas, Sam Dalembert, or they could always try to trade for someone like Melvin Ely, Nazr Mohammed. The Bulls have to decide on this. Do they want to keep a SG in a center's body in Curry who's a good scorer, and has low post potential, or do they go for a guy who can be much better on defense and rebounding. To me, you sign Dalembert and Marshall, and the Bulls have got a real nice nucleus going.
  10. Oh please, who cares, we all know who's gonna win tomorrow anyways. You should all be Bogutorized.
  11. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) I'll take Tayshaun over Carmelo in a heartbeat. The guy is an absolute defensive freak, and I love him. Those are the types of players that get you rings. But as far as Wade is concerned, everything that I've heard and read (as I can't stay awake for college basketball) indicates that he was damn good in college, but when he got to the NBA, he made a quantum leap of sorts. I mean, across the board, seemingly everyone who followed him closely in college is flat-out shocked at the progress that he's made. Jeff Bzedlik wanted Carmelo to share the ball on offense, what happens? He gets canned. I don't see George Karl putting up with him for long, but Kiki Vaderweghe thinks he's going to be a franchise player.
  12. The Giants seem to have some good pitching depth, a lot of guys just outside their rotation and bullpen, but they've got some good scrappers in the AAA lineup as well, which could give the Sox some possible trade options there. Of course if KW lied and said JB was in his 40's, Sabean would be all over him.
  13. Questions for Merkin: Could you see Jermaine Dye having better power numbers in 2005 than Maggilo Ordonez? Do you expect Joe Crede's new swing to improve his numbers much? If not, will Josh Fields be up by the end of the season, or do you see the Sox trading for a stopgap solution like Wes Helms or Joe Randa? Which 2 of out the 3 pitchers in Garland, Hernandez and Contreras do you expect to see pitching on the Southside in 2006 when B-Mac will most likely be in the rotation.
  14. If Edwards is somehow still on the board, which he won't be, Norm Chow will be crappin his pants in joy.
  15. Uhhh Aussie in a different time zone down here. That's 4:30 a.m, I'm sorry but there's no way I'm gettin up for that.
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) I just wanna know how bad Pistons' fans feel about their team drafting Milicic over guys like Carmelo and Wade. :headshake Yep, that's the way I remember it. Can you imagine Carmelo Anthony with Larry Brown? Plus the way Tayshuan Prince is playing offensively and defensively, they wouldn't need Carmelo at all. Wade is a totally different story, but the Pistons would be happy with their guard rotation of Billups, Rip Hamilton, Arroyo and Carlos Delfino.

They've got NOOOOO chance at all. Might as well just have sent some sheep over to compete instead.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) BHAM -- You'll love the pet project i'm working on. sneak peak... Jaimie Burke???
  20. How about this for a stat line. And Portland has him for about $1,500,000 next season; Joel Przybilla - 13 points, 21 rebounds, 8 blocks.
  21. Nice to hav ya back Nuke.
  22. Joe Randa could always be a possibility but it's more likely we could deal for him mid - season if Crede doesn't turn it around. Maybe after today, the Giants could have interest in Griffey, but that would be iffy to say the least.
  23. It depends. What does JG prefer, a WR or a RB? I don't think anyone knows for sure, all I know is that if Mike Williams is there at #5, they take him. But for now, I'm going with the other Williams, since JG seems to him too.
  24. Any news on Garry Majewski making the team as well?
